Hello xcuseme, This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help. The range model JGSP42DETWW has a waist-high broiler, located inside the oven. GE is the maker of this oven. We are sorry to hear of the issues you have had with the grates. The part numbers for replacement grates for this model range are WB31T10134 (right) and WB31T10135 (left) and are available through Home Depot's website. Thank you for checking.

Customer Reviews

4.1 cu. ft. Slide-In Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Oven in Black is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful stove- does a good job baking. had a 2 year old ge profile slide in that was similar in style. We got flooded with irene so I had to replace it. My old stove was stylish- but ran very hot- and the oven vented along time. The top was also difficult to keep clean and the burner spacing was not optimal. Thats all solved now.. This oven does not vent so long, and has a nicer style cooktop. The spacing of the burners is better.. Its slightly easier to clean. The varied burners are great for everything I cook. Rice turns out perfect on the simmer burner. The only down side is the grates. they are cast iron and impossible to clean. All the new stoves have them- and everybody is going to have the same problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Annoying fan Shortly after turning on the oven an annoying fan starts up and runs well after you turn the oven off. In a quiet household this can be irratating. Called in a GE repairman and he said this was normal. I kept the stove but I hate the fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware_ GE misrepresented this product and has so far refused to make good. I am REALLY mad and disappointed. GE says the white version of this stove comes with "Porcelain enamel burner grates". The GE photos on line show lovely shiny grey porcelain offsetting the white stove. The handbook discusses at length how to care for the shiny enamel. (Similar to your nice Creuset pots!) That's NOT what you actually get. Instead, the grates are a raw black dull cast iron. They look ok on stainless steel but look TERRIBLE on a white stove. Several calls to the Customer Care GE representatives later, they say they can't ship the correct shiny grey enamel grates because they don't exist! There's nothing they can do to help. Meanwhile, our old stove has been taken away and the kitchen is torn apart. We truly hate the black grates and won't install this stove.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very loud oven We have had this gas (converted to propane) for almost 3 years. It looks great, BUT the oven is very noisy and the burners won't turn down to a "real" simmer. Maybe they included the wrong orifices for propane. We've had several gas/propane ranges over the years and have never had an oven that made noise. Anyone else have a noisy oven?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Temperature problems! I have this stove. The oven will not maintain its temperature accurately. I have to use a setting that is at minimum 25 to 50 degrees warmer to cook food. Cleaning the oven does not help. Baking can be a nightmare. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
