Not sure about energy efficiency yet-will have to use for awhile first. Had to have professionally installed, as our prior GE range was 20+ years old and was not the same size. Required some cutting of our new quartz countertops, but looks great installed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by P0ppa Great DIY product
Once countertop was measured and cut per the instructions, the stove just dropped right in. The installation took less than an hour and looked like it was custom made. Too new to rate the stove but everything works as advertised. I am very pleased with my choice of this GE product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Didactic Excellent product, minor problem with packaging
The range itself is great. The only problem is that one part, the trim strip that holds the range into the counter, did not include the hardware package needed to install it. Yes, I did look THOROUGHLY through all the packing material. I called GE to complain/get the parts sent to me, ans spend 30 minutes on the phone with a poorly-trained or really not-bright customer service agent, trying to explain what was missing. I finally thought I had succeeded, and then a few days later I got a package in the mail, with the wrong parts in it. Oh, well. Problem not yet resolved.

If you're looking at this, then you already know that for drop-in ranges, you only have so many options. When I was shopping, there were basically 3 choices. This model, the expensive version of this one (the convection version), and one of a different brand. I bake less than 5 times a year, so I didn't feel like the convection option was worth the extra $800. Being a drop-in, its pretty expensive compared to a slide-in or free standing model with the same options.
As far as options go, it has all the standard options that stoves have. They're already listed in the description, so no point restating all of them. I gave it 4 stars because it has everything most people would expect to see in a stove. There are some things that are nice to have that are missing (as a stated earlier, the convection option is much more expensive). The elements in the oven are exposed rather than hidden, which makes cleaning up messes a bit more work. I was expecting the controls to be a glass touchscreen/capacitive type of controls. The control panel on this model is actually a flexible plastic/rubber. It feels a bit cheaper than the glass screen. These are only the oven controls, not the top burner controls.
So, all these things I listed that would be nice to have are options for the over, which I'll use 5x a year, so its something I can live with.
Drop-in ranges are typically hard-wired to the house. So you probably won't get the delivery guy to "install" it. You'll have to either wire up the 4 wires (220v) or pay an electrician to do it. 220v is enough electricity to ruin your day, so it's not advisable for a novice do-it-yourselfer or your 13yr old nephew to hook up. This also means that you most likely wont need to buy a range power cord like you would for a free-standing model.
I've only had it 1 month, so I can't speak for its durability. I also have no clue about the energy efficiency. I never ran the unit that it replaced. Several places in town had this model for within a dollar of each other. I went with Home Depot because they had the earliest delivery date.

This is the best stove ever. You should own one!! My stove burn out it was horrible. then I ordered this one I was watching for at least a year online at Home depot.com on my wishlist. then my chance arrived. when I ordered it and it arrived and after installation. Words can not describe. I am so very well pleased the only thing I hate is I dont have gas so I have to settle for electric but she is beautiful in appearance and excellent in workmanship.

Sad to see my old Jennair go. Too old to buy parts for. This was a nice replacement. Looks great and has nice features. Cooks well. Was taller than my previous drop in. Lost a drawer beneath the range as a result.

I purchased this range during the Home Depot pre-Black Friday sale along with three other GE appliances. This range replaced an 18+ year old Kenmore Drop-in range that worked well. Home Depots delivery agent delivered this range and I installed it. I had to enlarge the rough opening width and depth in my counter top for this range. The rough opening needs to be a dead-on 36" wide between cabinets. I can't remember the depth measurement. The range installed easily and works well and looks nice. The depth from surface to bottom front face of range is less than the old range so I have got to stain and install a piece of facing 3.25" high by 36" wide. Home Depot sells and cuts different types of wood by the foot so that will be an easy finishing project. The wife is happy with the fast surface element heating and says she now can cook on lower temperatures. We tested the oven with a frozen pizza and it cooked faster and at a lower temperature than our old oven. The price seemed a little high to me ($1349) but we prefer drop-in ranges to free-standing ranges because of the control location and the built in look. We're happy with the entire experience so far (10 days) from delivery to installation to performance and recommend buying USA products.
