I bake every week and have noticed that my muffins always brown faster in the back right hand corner than in the middle and the front. My oven seems to be baking unevenly. I love my new stove but, it is a problem as I bake every Friday for the public. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried turning the temperature down and placing foil on top but, that has not helped.

I would like to know if the heat from the range top will be too hot for this type of countertops, since it has a slight lip that will lay on top of these counters.

What's causing the gap at the back of the stove?

This question is from 4.4 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel
Asked by
Orlando Fl

My cabinets are a standard depth at 25 inches deep. I've read multiple customer feedback commenting on a gap between the back of the cooktop and the wall. One of the GE responses included the depth measurements at 25.75 inches without the handle and 28.5 inches with the handle. If the space is 25 inches deep and the range is 25.75 inches deep (deeper than the average counter depth - w/o the handles), what is causing the gap at the back of the stove? Are there elements that stick out of the back of the stove not allowing it to be flush with the wall?

~Maintop Filler Kit---You also have the option of a maintop filler kit. This is used to fill the gap between the range back and the wall. It can only be used when the opening in the counter top is 25 inches deep. You cannot use this kit and a backguard kit.

Answer:
The stove comes with a strip that is to be attached to the back to fill in the gap -- was that installed for you? Even with the strip installed, we had about 3/8" left but that was just enough to install a tile backsplash.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice range nice range but you may need some help when installing July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stove I read all the reviews before buying this range & I am glad I did. So far it has performed great. I still love the convection oven & have used it once with good results. I am glad it has the warmer burner. I got my spaghetti done too quick & used the warmer burner to keep it until everyone was ready for lunch. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GE Ceramic top electric range I really like the GE electric range I just purchase through Home Depot.com and think it will be a welcome addition to my kitchen. Thanks Home Depot for helping me improve my home. Benjamin Bergman December 15, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WHO DESIGNED THIS RANGE? First of all the I want to say that the range works just fine. I have no complaints about the performance. But the design is terrible! The first problem is the Controls Lock. It only locks the oven and the control panel. When, in fact, the burner controls are most in need of a lock. The slightest touch can turn on a burner. And with the controls located right in the front, that could be a disaster. The Control Lock should lock EVERY function. My second complaint is that the range does not fit all the way to the back splash. There is a gap that can be filled in with a strip that is attached to the back of the range. The problem with that is that the strip that they supply is too wide and it makes the range protrude about an inch further than it should. So it doesn't line up with the counter top. Whoever designed this range has absolutely no idea of how the average household kitchen functions. GE should hire a homemaker who actually uses kitchen appliances to design their appliances. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stove Just purchased this stove and was delivered on Monday. If you have 36" counter height, 25" deep counter top and 30" wide this is a perfect fit and I mean perfect. It comes with the filler kit that fills in the 2" space between top of back of stove and the back splash. There is also aback guard kit available if needed if ones back splash doesn't come down far enough which stands 4" high across back of stove. This would be in place of the filler kit if needed. The large burner can be set to accommodate 3", 6" or 9" pot. The storage draw is spacious for pots and pans. Oven has 3 racks. Very nice looking and top burners heat up very quickly. Convection or regular bake/roast. So far very happy with this purchase!! Highly recommend!! January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent range, The home Depot needs to focus better on consistent pricing. Nice range. Did not come with an owners manual or the safety hold down bracket. Some misinformation regarding the "bridge element": While shown on The Home Depot website as a separate element, the owners manual (which I had to get online) states it is only available on certain models (and shows a different control knob) and on the Q&A section of The Home Depot item list there is an answer from GE that states there is no separate element. A week after I bought it "on sale", while trying to get the owners manual I noticed The Home Depot had it on another "sale" for $150.00 less. Had to call and work through the process to get a cost adjustment. November 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking and easy to use. I bought this range through the internet site without viewing on the floor. I was impressed by the good looks, its features and the manufacturer. I could not be happier with my purchase. It is impressive in its place in my kitchen, is a joy to use and cleans up easily. I have never had a smooth top range before and find it a delight to use and so much easier to clean than a coil burner cook top. The convection oven is easy to use and is much faster than a conventional oven. April 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New Stove Review The stove fit perfectly in the desired location. The controls are easy to understand and use, and the burner set up is superior to other stoves that we have used July 19, 2016
