I have a granite counter top on either side of the range, so there's a space between the back of the stove and the tile. Need to know how to find it and what depths they come in. Thanks.

Answer:
Hello Martha, This is Joyce from GE Appliances. While a vent hood is not required by GE, it is recommended. Vents help to effectively remove smoke, grease, odors and moisture from the room. We do suggest to check local codes for any venting requirements. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

Hello Babs7075,
I am happy to help. Canning should be done on surface units only. Normally, pots that extend beyond one inch of the cooking element's trim ring are not recommended for most surface cooking; however, when canning with a water-bath, pressure canner, or pressure cooker, larger diameter pots may be used. This is because boiling water temperatures (even under pressure) are not harmful to cooktop surfaces surrounding the surface units.
Note: Do not use large diameter canners or other large diameter pots for frying or boiling foods other than water.
Observe the following points in canning:
Be sure the canner fits over the center of the surface unit.
Flat bottomed canners must be used.
When canning, use recipes and procedures from reputable sources. These are available from canning jar manufacturers and county extension offices.
Remember that canning is a process that generates large amounts of steam and heat. Use extreme caution.
We appreciate you checking with us.
Lisa from GE Appliances.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 136 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Electric Range for sure! This was a slide-in stove to replace a 12-yr old that had died. Home Depot salesman was a BIG help, and the stove was delivered a few minutes AHEAD of schedule, which pleased us because we were pushed for time. A great and easy shopping experience, stove worked great, and my wife is very satisfied. Great looking and easy to use. February 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome investment all the features are great and work great! I only gave 4 stars on Quality because the pull out drawer is rather flimsy/cheap compared to how nice the rest of the stove is built. that is the only thing that needs to be improved. I would still buy it again with the drawer like it is. February 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stove! The stove fit perfectly into the new granite countertops. Stove works well and looks great. Kitchen looks great with this new Stainless Steel Range. December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love my new GE range! I love the smooth top, sleek look and large oven! After years of cleaning drip trays, I love the flat surface and the recommended cleaner that came with it. It shines right up and glows (when not in use :-) The oven width and rack sizes are perfect for me. The GE delivery/installers were so very careful and kind when removing our old range and properly installing the new one. I am another happy GE customer thanks to Home Depot! May 6, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by top is hard to clean, not enough small burners The glass top is solid black and too hard to clean without appearing smudged and greasy film. I have tried several cook top products and results are all the same. G. E. should have kept the gray speckled tops from years past. There is only one small burner in the back of the stove and it is hard to reach when you are short and cooking on the burner in front it it as well. It is more beautiful than functional. April 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4.4 Cu. ft. slide-in electric range in white I searched everywhere on the internet trying to find an oven without convection feature and finally found this GE range. It is the best oven I've EVER owned. I loved it from the get go. Easy to clean. Easy to operate. Has great features. Looks great. Does not heat up the kitchen like other ovens I've owned. GE really stepped up to the plate this time. I would recommend this to anyone. June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice oven purchased to appeal to renters, who apparently appreciate ge and stainless. is a nice oven, though. August 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool to cook with but not so easy to clean. This came with my house. I would not purchase myself as the top is a pain to clean. Works great though. June 30, 2016
