Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by frustrated Leaking soap dispenser
I bought this exact washing machine and it has had a problem leaking from the soap dispenser from day one. At first I thought my water pressure might be too high and I put pressure regulating valves in the line. This made no difference. The GE appointed repair man came and said he could not make it happen. This was infuriating since there is a large stain on the floor (that I cannot get out right below the washer, new floor by the way). I am an engineer and have looked carefully at the design. I cannot understand how it can be leaking but it does. As the water enters the soap dispensing tray, The soap and water flow out of the tray and down the front of the machine. There is nothing blocked in the dispensing tray. There is no buildup in the dispensing tray. This machine has been doing this from day one. We are using the recommended liquid laundry detergent. There is a fundamental flaw in the design of this machine. I would recommend that everyone steer clear.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by woodman1 Drain Hose Whoas
Purchasers beware, if you are like many of us the standard 58" drain hose that comes from the factory installed on the unit may be too short. Finding the drain hose extension that will reach to higher heights is a nightmare. It is not spec'd out in any of their material, a phone call to GE had to be made by the distributor to find the proper part number. Additionally the factory drain hose is a much smaller diameter than the extension hose. Even if you follow the poorly drawn pictorial and included directions it will leak like a sieve at the ends of the extension hose. I called GE and was told this was the proper extension kit and "make sure you follow the directions exactly." I explained that the diameters were significantly different and was told by the rep "that is the right kit." A real design and engineering problem. To get a service tech out to "fix" the problem will be a 5 day wait. Oh and by the way we were told that most likely, it would not be covered because it was an installation problem, so much for GE CARES. Not the GE of yesteryear, they are relying on their laurels from that era. Go with Whirlpool, a great supply chain and better design, you can get parts quickly and you don't have to wait days. Highly disappointed.....If you want to be frustrated go with this model

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jennifer Worst Washer Ever!
Takes 4 hours to do a "quick" wash, among other problems. One load went over 7 hours. We've had multiple service calls including one today. Almost everything has been replaced. I have never been so disappointed with an appliance. GE will NOT REPLACE. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. We have laundry piling up! I have 3 teenagers and this is a hardship to my family. We saved up and were excited to get a new washer and dryer, but now less than a year later, have nothing but regrets! Will never buy another appliance from General Electric. I thought they would make it good, but they don't care. They should be ashamed! WIsh I could give 0 stars!

The washer is great, very easy to use and high efficiency. The reason I took one star off is that delivery guys messed up hot and cold water line during installation, resulting in damaged my delicate clothing.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by chuckr3 takes to long to wash a load
after a year of owning this unit . I hate it. it takes over 1.5 hour to do a load even on quick cycle . I've sat and watched this unit several times with 17 minutes left which is rinse and spin . it will take over 20 minutes to self balance before it even starts the cycle this is on every load we wash. and it doesn't use enough water on lighter loads like a king size bed set (this the reason I chosen this unit) . when I pulled out the comforter there was still several dry spots on it. I have to chose pre wash on every load . u can not choose a load size . it measures by weight. that was my mistake. and the dryer works a little better . it can't even dry a blanket in one cycle it takes a few cycles to do a king size

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by sdspicer I don't think the washers going to last
The Dryer is great, Love it! but the washer has issues, it seems to work Ok, but shakes like crazy - it's been leveled by the installers, me and a service call, is on a foundation of cement and you can still here it shake throughout the entire house when it spins up, either loaded or unloaded.
When I spin the drum by hand it sounds like somethings loose or you can hear bearings, the Tech that came out didn't even check the drum when I told him, just run it without a load saw how it was shaking and changed the levelers -- Bought the GE over the washer/dryer set that I went after, wish I hadn't.
Don't have much faith in the warranty repair man, will probably have to call someone else I know that repairs appliances for a living.

The settings are neat. There's a setting for everything. The drawer where you pour in detergent is flimsy. I'm afraid it may break overtime I pull it. But I am careful. The capacity is good and the cute sound it plays when it's finished is quiet. Your clothes come out smelling good. The time left feature is... inaccurate. It frequently takes a new reading of the load and adjusts the time. It's much better than the dryer though. If I was buying a new washer again, this wouldn't be it.
