Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by How upsetting!!! Unfortunately this washer was way beyond disappointing. I've had my washer less than 1 year and it's had multiple service calls due to it shredding my clothes, it makes a horrible noise, and if you fill it very full at all it doesn't wash well. Each time the service man looks over the machine and thinks he has it fixed only to find that it starts doing the same thing shortly after he leaves. They've replaced the motor, and multiple parts. Finally we requested another machine. (Definitely not this model!!!) I was looking forward to my new washer with all the bells and whistles and unfortunately you would do much better looking elsewhere. Just my opinion though. July 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Loved it at first I have had this washer for one year and I am disappointed in the performance. Detergent residue is left on dark clothes after washing. You have to run the load twice to remove all detergent and still that may not work. Not very cost effective. I have tried running smaller loads, still end up having to wash load twice, or always select heavy duty, even that doesn't always work. Even tried using smaller amount of detergent as suggested in the owners manual. I stopped using fabric softener and still white residue on dark clothes so that was not the problem. Other reviews noted dry spots on clothes and lint in folds of large items. I have also experienced this problem on occasion but the problem with dark clothes occurs with every load of dark clothes I wash. Sometimes, rather than wash the entire load over, I just hand rinse the items that still have detergent residue on them. When you spend this much money on a washer, you shouldn't have to do hand rinsing when the load is done. June 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Purchase/ Awful Consumer Relations!!! I am almost 40 and this is the very first time I have ever felt strongly enough about something I bought to write a review. I've had my washer and dryer for almost a year. At least 1 in every 10 loads of laundry I wash, the washer gets off balance and quits working, leaving my clothes in a heaping mound of soaking mess. Had repair man come only to say, this is just a POORLY designed washer and I'll just have to be on stand by for when I hear it off balance so I can go separate the clothes for them to ring out. He said I should separate my clothes by weight. Although totally inconvenient (imagine sorting by weight AND color), I thought that might help, but it doesn't make any difference. ("Sorry kids, only Dad's jeans get washed in this load.") I just washed a load of clothes containing my 6 year olds sheet set (size full) and 6 of his shirts, hoping to get away with the differences in weight. Nope!!! I didn't buy my washing machine so I could stand by and babysit it. I'm a busy mom with 4 kids. We bought this big capacity set to make life more convenient; this is anything but. Talked to GE several times and am very frustrated with the fact that THEY DO NOT CARE! Because the repair man found 'nothing wrong' (no parts broken etc.) with the machine itself, there is simply nothing they will do to help me. It's still under warranty and I want GE to be understanding that it does not work the way it should. It's not working properly when I have to continually rewash sopping wet clothes. FRUSTRATION LEVEL= HIGH!!! July 14, 2014
