Regeneration and % Remaining

So does the % remaining have anything to do with when the unit actually recharges? I should get about 10 or 11 days between recharges and mine recharges every 5 or 6 days.
I have a 45.1k GE Unit and my hardness is set to 40 with 100 gallons of usage per day. I read under the questions for the 30k unit that it should recharge after it gets below 25% remaining. Even after I have done several factory resets mine does the first recharge under 25% remaining and then every recharge thereafter just under 50% remaining.

The 2nd regeneration will regenerate just under 50%. The system will continue to regenerate at the just under 50% remaining until the system gathers enough water usage data. Once system has gathered enough water usage data (around 4 to 8 weeks) then it will start and continue to regenerate just under the 25% Remaining level.
I do love this water softener. If works very well. It has removed the bad taste from my city water. My water hardness is 26 gpg.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase I bought this Water Softener and installed it myself on 7-2016. I was not hard to install and set up. It took me about 4 hours ( I work slow). The unit is working Great so far. I would recommend this Water Softener. August 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good Plumbing was pretty easy even for my 1st time since I just had to slightly modify my plumbing after removing old water softener. Had a friend helping but got all my parts from local store. I needed 1 inch type M copper pipe. I was amazed that I could not find it at local stores using a web search. But when I went to the stores they had everything I needed even though they called the parts by different name. The two 1 inch NPT's were actually called Copper Adapter CXFIP. My local hardware store had everything but they were about 40% more expensive then the big box stores. Setup was simple and instructions were easy to follow. My water did turn rust color and then a whitest color before I was all done running water through softener and running the Sanitize regeneration cycle. I do like that it shows me how many days remaining till more salt needed and how much water I am using daily. This unit takes up far less space then my old unit which had a big white Salt bin next to it. My old unit lasted 22 yrs but it was all analog. Hopefully this unit lasts at least 10 yrs but I would expect at least 20. May 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to install, damaged, no instructions Not available in store, so had to have shipped. When I opened the box, it was clear that it had already been opened and returned. Unit had cosmetic damage from shipping and was missing instructions. needed additional work and parts to complete installation. Won't buy equipment from HomeDepot that I can't inspect again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well Seems to be just as good as the previous model, happy with purchase. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So Far So Good Seems to be doing as intented. I personaly like the feature Daily Water Usage quite a bit, makes me award of my water consumption and started to cut back. February 11, 2016
