In the past the burners on my Whirlpool Range do not keep level..I want a burner that remains level throughout the cooking time. Could you tell me if the burners on this range stay level and are they easy to remove and clean and put back in place?

Answer:
Hello Susie - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The plug-in burners on this range should stay level. When removing the burners, it is important not to raise the surface unit more than 1". Otherwise, it may not lie flat on the drip pan when you plug the burner back in. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Answer:
No, the excess heat is channeled under the rear-right small burner. The top of the stove gets warm, but not hot to the touch.

Dear Valued HomeDepot Customer,
We reached out to the MFG for more information and below is their response.
"Hello, This is Kim from GE. I will be happy to help. The oven vent is located in the middle of the right rear burner. When the oven is in use, heat is exhausted under that coil. If the vent opening on the burner bowl is turned the wrong way, heat from the oven will divert under the cooktop, rather than out the right rear burner. Avoid covering the right rear Calrod element with a decorative burner cover. This will cause heat to build up under the cooktop when the oven is in use. It is normal for certain surfaces to feel warm or hot to the touch. Our products meet all standards for external temperatures for ranges. There are currently no temperature limitations for the cooktop. Please consult the installation instructions for additional information. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!" No. The only light on this model is inside the oven. The oven light is located in the top-rear-left side.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk Stove is pretty but if you actually plan on cooking in it, look for something else. The oven knob doesn't "click" on and off so it randomly gets turned on if you just brush up against it. It also doesn't have a way to tell you the oven is preheated so you have to buy a thermometer or wing it. The manual that comes with it is completely worthless. Oh and if you do buy this, when the manual says its optional to self clean the oven for three hours before use - its optional if you enjoy having a headache while cooking for a month. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor construction and bad engineering. Back does not fit flush against the wall. No opening for the plug at a different location.knob panel is not fully closed.Burner tray does not cover openings on knob panel.Tray panel has openings at rear.Drawer pull not deep enough and not heavy enough, also slides are very weak and hard to remove and install. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stove Review Product met my expectations for this order...thanks for the quick response June 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE freestanding range jb450df I LOVE the simplicity of this range. I turn the dial and it cooks. So NOT digital! The user manual has been randomized to fit all digital models so I do have to figure out if the self cleaning feature has a built in timer. Not a big hassle at all when I compare this to circuit board blowout and other digital nonsense. The only drawback is the smaller underdrawer due to the larger oven size. December 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good basic range So far after three weeks of use, oven and burners seem to work well. A little slower to heat than my old Tap-pan. Does have some cosmetic issues though. Underside of control knob plate where oven door lever is the enamel is chipped off in large spots. The bottom storage drawer indented finger pull has uneven metal finish at corners. Looks like the factory tried to repair the metal then enamel painted over it. The back of the range panel is bowed out/bent? Not allowing it to sit flush to the wall. Will be calling GE to see about fixing these items. September 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great looking nice color i love the simplicty of this range as i no longer need all the extra cooking gadgets it does the job very well December 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Job Just wanted a regular electric coil stove. Does a nice job of cooking & baking. Oven knob could be in a different location as it gets bumped & turned on when it shouldn't. Also wish it had a clock & timer. November 11, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed, but. . . The range was installed yesterday by a pair of courteous and careful delivery men. Unfortunately, I already have a warranty repair scheduled. The "oven heating" light is mis-wired so that the light remains on continuously and does not cycle on and off with the heating element. On a separate (design) issue, I was disappointed that the (blank) backsplash had to be a part of the range. I use ADA front panel controls. The backsplash is wasted metal with no clock or controls. From a marketing perspective, this model would sell like hot-cakes if it was a glass top with self-clean in approximately the same price range. February 5, 2015
