Does the glass window on the oven door stay clean over time?

For those of you who have had this range for more than just a few months and actually use the oven regularly-- can you tell me if the seal around the window on the oven door is secure enough to prevent any grease and soot from seeping between the glass panes where it cannot be cleaned. I am very concerned about being able to keep the window clean and clear as possible so that it looks good and I can actually see what I am baking even after the unit has significant use. Thank you for any input!

My middle (oval) burner is stuck together -- I can't remove the black top part from the grey base. I'm not having this problem on my other burners.

I tried soaking it as recommended in the manual, but so far it's still stuck and the burner isn't lighting properly.

Hello Phila,
I am sorry for your inconvenience. The oval burner head and cap assembly are non-removable. The cap is permanently attached to the burner head. Clogged or dirty burner ports or electrodes will not allow the burner to operate properly. For proper ignition, make sure the small hole in the notch
that fits over the electrode is kept open. A sewing needle

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 89 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This has all the features I wanted at a very reasonable price. Service and delivery was great too! I love this oven! It has a convection feature which I love! I like the top cover - great for keeping things warm. The cost was awesome. And the delivery guys were terrific! Very satisfied! March 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Has professional quality at great price This unit gave us everything we wanted (5 burners, convection oven, broiler, speed boil) all in a larger size beautiful oven/range. I love it. December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best purchase I've made in a while I've never used a gas stove before, but have been dying to get one. We purchased a new house and the bonus was I could easily convert the existing electric oven into a gas one from in the basement! After a lot of research, this was the chosen one and I'm so glad it was! I've had it for three months now and it's still very easy to clean, it gets very hot very quickly and I LOVE the convection feature. I won't ever want to reconvert back to electric because of this stove. The lower drawer space is kind of small, but it's big enough to fit baking trays, pizza pans and smaller cast iron skillets and grills for myself. The oven space is perfect as well. I haven't used the self cleaning features yet just because it's not dirty on the inside! The delivery guys were very professional and quick with the install. No complaints whatsoever with anything yet. March 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HOT!! This is our first gas range so we're still getting used to it. We've had it for about a week and the main thing I can say is it's SO hot! It heats up everything really quickly (compared to an electric range). The convection oven will take some getting used to, we actually burned our pizza crust. We're really excited about the steam clean feature, although we haven't used it yet. We also like that this model will stay lit during a power outage. The sales person told us that most gas ranges don't have that feature anymore. We picked this particular range because we also like that the burners are all on one level, meaning there isn't a depression around each burner. This will make cleaning under the grates much easier. And for that matter there are only two grates to move, as opposed to four or more on other ranges. Having the whole top be one level means you can move pots anywhere on the stove even if they're not on a burner. We haven't used it yet either but we're also looking forward to using the oval griddle burner in the middle of the stove. It doesn't come with a griddle but you can purchase one and lay it over the oval burner. There's more flame on an oval burner than a round one. We had the range converted to propane, which was easily done. It comes with the conversion kit and we had our propane provider do the installation. Easy peasy! The only negative thing I can say about it is the bottom drawer for lids is very small. What you get in oven space you loose in drawer space. I find it mildly annoying because all my lids don't fit. Overall though, we're very happy with our choice and look forward to many years of cooking on this range. February 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The facts I have owned this range for almost one year. The slate color is difficult to keep looking clean without swirl marks. I have to go over it twice to eliminate those greasy looking streaks. The enamel is delicate and care has to be taken when removing and installing grates. The burners do not emit an inner ring and outer ring of flame as on a professional cook top. Consequently it takes longer to heat pans than an electric as the flame contacts just the outer portion of the bottom of the pot or pan. Boiling water takes extra time. Those are the cons. The pro is that everything has performed without any failures and the oven works fine. It is energy efficient compared to electric. I enjoy being able to immediately control the heat without having to move a pan while the burner cools as with an electric range. I believe the cons would be applicable to most any gas range made for homeowners. If you are a clean freak get a white one. April 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nicest oven I've ever owned! A bit more than what I wanted to pay, but I love the slate color.. . Heats fast, I only wish they would have included the griddle for the middle burner. I like that the drawer is for storage. Very happy with my selection. July 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great features with high end look My new stove is everything that I was looking for in features, style and price. The 5 burners with different heat levels allows me to cook multiple items with ease. The convection oven bakes quickly and evenly. The slate finish with the stainless accents give my kitchen a high end look and feel. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is an excellent range. I had a very expensive Viking dual fuel range/oven for years, Nothing but heartache. Replaced thermostat three times in the first 6 months. At the end it was still 75 degrees off. After a year two of the four burner igniters stopped working. This GE is everything I wanted in a range and a very handsome design as well. The thermostat is right on the money and the various sized burners are very efficient and a very thoughtful design. It even has a clock with time set for baking. The old Viking didn't at more than three times the price. Installation took only 20 minutes by two very competent and knowledgeable persons. . . December 10, 2013
