Hello Cynthia - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. We're sorry to hear that your oven is not heating properly, and are happy to help you. First, if the oven is not heating at all, we recommend disconnecting power to the range via the main power supply for a few minutes and then restoring power. Hopefully, this will reset the control panel. If this does not help, and your oven is heating, but not heating properly, then we recommend first checking that the controls are set properly. Also, make sure heat is not blocked from circulating in the oven. If aluminum foil is being used on the oven shelf, never cover the entire shelf. This will block the circulation of heat in the oven. There should always be two inches around the back sides of the oven shelf for heat circulation. Check the oven gasket for rips or tears. On electric ranges, one of the heating elements may have malfunctioned. Check to make sure they glow or heat during the cycle. If they do not, then we recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 for assistance. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us! Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 744 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great and looks nice This range works really great. The oven temperatures seem true and baking has been a snap. The oven pre-heats pretty fast the visual cues that it's ready are easy to understand. The cook top works great as well and I love the flat surface, except when some of my old warped pans go spinning around - but that isn't the stove's fault! Great price for a good range. The only thing I wished it had was the self cleaning feature. May 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good stove but temp is off I like the glass top but I still feel like I'm going to break it when I place pots on it. The oven seems to run cooler than my old stove. Everything seems undercooked when following the baking instructions. I have to add 5-10 degrees to every recipe. Maybe this is because it keeps turning off and on to "maintain" a constant temperature. The bottom drawer needs a better handle design. It's very awkward to pull open and close. Once you get used to the little quirks it does a good job. February 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ge 5.3 cu.ft. The Ge product is very easy to use it,the 5.3 cu.ft stove is wonderful it cook well. January 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buying this was a mistake I bought a lot of new appliances all at the same time (moved to a new home), from various places and brands. This one is by far the worst one I pushed, and the worst oven I've ever owned. It doesn't have a self-clean option. You would think that only means you need to wash it yourself, but that's not all. It also means the oven is not nearly as insulated as a self-cleaning oven would be. This means that it cycles constantly and keep a proper temperature. It also means that a LOT of heat escapes the oven, enough to melt plastics sitting on the stove top towards the back (there's little vents beneath the panel for some reason), and enough to be very hot on all the metal parts (150 degrees or so, enough to sting but not to injure). Ours ran way too cool. Baking something that should take 30 minutes was taking 2 hours, that sort of thing. The night before the technician came to look at it, I found a function in the panel that lets you adjust the baking temperature +/- 35 degrees. I found it in the manual along with text about how they calibrated it already and there's no way you actually need to use it, but it's there in case you want it anyway. So I cranked it all the way, and when the technician came and measured it, it was just about perfect for their specs. At +35, on a brand new oven. Abysmal. Now, I replaced a 10 year old glass-top oven, and my old place still has a 15 year old glass-top oven. Neither of them have scratches in the cooktop. Yet, through lighter than normal use, this new one has a number of scratches already on the cooktop, in less than 6 months of ownership. Completely unacceptable. If returns were allowed on these stupid things, I would 100% return this immediately and purchase from a local dealer. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality for the price This range looks very nice in our kitchen. It seems to cook faster than others, both on the stovetop and in the oven. The glass top shines up nice though the black color we have does show smudges and dust very fast. August 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Range for the Money The price we paid this product was good. We have not had it very long, so cannot really rate quality. December 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Range Thus far, our new range has performed admirally. The stove top boils water very quickly, and the oven preheats equally as fast. Food cooks evenly and thoroughly...unlike our previous range. December 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A burner stopped working after 13 months of service This is a decent oven with OK quality, but unfortunately one of burners stopped working after just 13 months from the date of purchase. This is not good and it is pass warranty (12 months standard), they are asking $89 service call plus parts and labour. September 21, 2015
