Hi,
looking at different stoves and need to make sure I can use my Le Creuset pots. I see that it is not possible to use Cast Iron, which is very unfortunate, but just to make sure, Can you use Le Creuset pots and pans? They are cast iron pots/pans with a porcelain glaze.
Will pots with a copper bottom work?
Can you put Pillevuit porcelain forms or Pyrex glass forms on the warming spot?
Lastly, ScanPan frying pan and All Clad - will they work?
Thank you in advance for answering the questions.

Putting the pots on the warming spot should not be a problem. If you are in doubt about a certain type of cookware that you have, we recommend checking with the manufacturer of the cookware. Answer:
Porcelain Coated Cast Iron cookware is okay as long as the cookware is covered completely with porcelain enamel. Copper Bottom pans are also good, but they can leave residues on the cooktop that appear as scratches. Porcelain pans give good performance only if they have a thick, flat bottom. You can use ScanPan frying pan and All Clad if they are stainless steel, heavy-weight aluminum, carbon steel, or Read More

Hi Rose-this is Sue from GE Appliances. Cast Iron cookware is not recommended unless it is coated with porcelain enamel or designed specifically for glass cooktops. If the cookware has a burr or rough spot, it will scratch the glass surface. Additionally, it is slow to absorb heat. Once this type of cookware heats up, especially on high heat, it holds an intense amount of heat which is transferred to the cooktop. This can cause the element to shut down as a response to the temperature limiters which indicate surface temperature is too high for cooktop components to handle. 5.3 cu. ft. Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 393.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the oven !! We purchased all GE appliances for our kitchen, and all are lovely. We chose this range because the stove top had a ridge around all four sides just in case I spilled-over while I was cooking. Good choice, because it has already happened. I absolutely LOVE the oven. It heats up quickly and cooks EVENLY. Love it. The only reason it doesn't get all 5 stars, is the glass cook top, which has nothing to do with GE. I'm sure all are the same. I find it very hard to keep clean. Very attractive, but hard to clean if you splatter anything while cooking.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design Flaw I know first hand why this stove has been discontinued. It eats bulbs, Glad no one else will be able to purchase it. Shot 3 bulbs in one week! On second service call to replace receptive. Only 7 months old!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! We just moved to our new house and bought this stove. I love to cook and have family, friends over. The convection oven is very convenient and efficient, it cooks evenly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! Love the direct number entry of temperature and cook time. Ex: Bake, 350, Start and Timer, 10 (for 10 minutes) and Start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the features Brought the Range last week because of the quality of the GE products. I also have a GE Refrigerator that I love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great range. We are very pleased with this product. The coils heat the food very fast. Water boils within minutes. The oven preheats very fast compared to our previous oven. Great value for the money. Bought this at Home Depot online and had it delivered to my house in 2 days. Delivery people were very helpful in making sure everything worked and was set up properly. Overall we are extremely pleased with this purchase so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great stove I've only had this a few weeks but so far like it. The flat top is so shiny it makes me want to upgrade my tea kettle I sit on it. I used the convection to bake 2 trays of cookies at the same time & it worked great. The timer lets you know a minute early its about to beep.
Date published: 2014-01-28
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I did extensive research and comparison with other ranges before chosing this model. I like that it had both the traditional self-cleaning oven and the steam clean feature (many other brands had only the steam clean, which some reviewers did not like). I like the bridge burner on the left side, and the triple ring burner on the right.  There are 3 oven racks (porcelain-coated, so they can be left in when self-cleaning).  I also like that there are knobs to control the range-top, rather than digital control. And, it's made in the US.  Finally, the range is beautiful..looks great in my kitchen. (It replaced a 35-yr old almond-colored coil-burner range)
