Answer:
Hello Jfled73 - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. You can cancel a self-clean cycle by pressing the Cancel/Off pad. However, the door will not unlock until the oven has cooled below the locking temperature. You will not be able to open the door right away unless the oven has cooled below the locking temperature. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 674 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love it This was my first time having a glass top stove. I was worried about keeping it clean and not scratching it. I have not had any problems at all. You just have to clean it up right away after the stove top cools and follow the recommendations. Icook a lot and my stove top is still shiny after 3 months use.. I did have a problem with the smell the first 3 0r 4 times I used it but it went away. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice I purchased this unit to replace a 20+ year old Kenmore. Tons of features for the price. Love the burner layout. And the hidden lower bake element was a selling feature. Controls are easy to read and use. Heats up insanely fast. Only negative, that hot metallic smell still has not gone away after over three months of use. ( doesn't affect food ) Overall a great improvement over the old one. I recommend this unit highly. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the money for sure! Oven cooks evenly doesn't burn everything like my older one did. Love the stove also. The only problem i had with the oven part was the initial smell that does go away and get better with each use. First couple of times though was rough, burned our eyes, throat, even with 2 exhaust fans and windows open. I researched this online and seems all the new ovens do this. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hunt for the good price at HD! Same unit much more expensive elsewhere. Never seen it cheaper than HD's price, plus free delivery and installation.. Great purchase, highly recommended. May 20, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great range So far, so good. Great delivery. Works great. Good features. I'm happy with it! December 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Two repair calls within 3 months of purchase! Still not working. We purchased this GE Model oven and had it installed on September 26, 2015. Came with the oven appliance light burned out. The repair man said we should buy another one so we did. Bought a new bulb, and it burned in November. We installed a new bulb December 7, and it burned out in less than 2 weeks. We called GE repair, and the technician said it was the bulbs at fault and that other customers had the same thing happening. He said that we should buy a shatter-proof bulb like in a shop light. The 40 Watt Appliance bulbs I purchased are not bursting, just burning out, I explained. So I am on my way to Home Depot to buy a shatter-proof bulb! We also experienced our Thanksgiving Turkey not cooked after 5 hours in this oven. On December 13 we baked 4 potatoes at 425 degrees and after one hour they were still hard. GE tested the oven preheat feature and cycles today, December 18, and said the oven needed a new clock and heating element. Parts are being sent to us, but installation will not be until after Christmas. I can understand the delay, but not an oven only used under 12 times to have such problems. We don't use this oven every day, just on weekends. Maybe we just got a bad one. I hope it works on Christmas Day, we are cooking and serving dinner here that day. December 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Purchase Have had this range for two weeks. Great range for the money. I had read that it was hard to keep the stove top clean but that hasn't been a problem. Just wipe when you make a spill. Easy! Am so excited to have upgraded from coil top. This is my first GE appliance. The oven door is solid and the extra large window in the door is excellent. I haven't cooked enough yet to try out the oven cleaning and steam cleaning feature but I'm really looking forward to it. October 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Stove Ever - Crying Over Leaving it Behind This is the best stove ever! My husband and I lived in an apartment with an annoying electric, coil stove and finally broke down and purchased this. I feel like it changed our lives and has been a great stove. The slate color is amazing, so much better than stainless steel due to not showing fingerprints but still being metal. The burners heat up fast, give even, level heat, unlike coil, easy to clean and looks great. We have had the stove now for about 3.5 years, but recently bought a condo that has a gas stove. I feel like crying leaving this behind, but taking it with us would be too difficult. I will definitely miss it! June 19, 2016
