It will be on or off when the temperature reaches a factory set temperature. So, it will not immediately turn on when you turn the burner on and accordingly will turn off and the burner may still be warm to the touch. Delayed on/off.

5.3 cu. ft. Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1426.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall quite serviceable, few annoying aspects We replaced out old stove when the heating elements gave out. Can't help but compare to old one. Three places this model comes up lacking -- 1) rounded back means we can no longer set a tiny spice rack on the back, 2) having to press a start button after pressing the oven button and buttons to set temp means sometimes having to redo process or not having oven preheated, and finally, most annoying, 3) the large back burner on the left is impossible to use for large pots as the pots hit the control knobs, and cannot be centered on the heating element. Overall it is a serviceable model, as it cooks and bakes our food. But it is not well designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to cook with. calibrated, cool kitchen! This is a great deal for the money, with so many useable features. It is a pleasure to cook with this stove. The oven is calibrated perfectly and has a tightly sealed oven door witch holds the heat saving on electricity and from heating up the kitchen and home; witch saves on air-conditioning. You can cook a roast in the summer and stay cool. It is the best electric range that I have ever cooked with, and I am a trained Chef with 30 years cooking experience. The burners are easy to clean and keep clean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feedback I like the glass cook top for ease of clean up; however, the temperatures of the cooking surfaces are difficult to moderate and adjust. Also the insulation for the oven seems inadequate. When on, the over really heats up my kitchen. Finally, without an actual handle the bottom drawer is difficult to open as the grip seems inadequate to easily pull out a full drawer. I would purchase a more expensive model than this one or chose a different brand if buying another range..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome features, easy to use, quick cooking We bought this three months ago and I was skeptical at first about buying a glass top cooking surface. after using the stove I will Never go back to a regular stove. I love the way it cooks, the speed with which it heats up and cooks. My sons have both commented about how food has been tasting so much better now. They originally had assumed I was trying new recipes!! We're surprised to learn that it is the same recipes as always just the new stove and oven!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's Brand New But... We bought a new condo last fall (2015) and it came with "upgraded" GE appliances. We used the range for less than a month and the oven light went out. I replaced the bulb and we left for five months (a southern winter escape) and returned in April. It's now July and the bulb is out again! I have a feeling that this is not unusual. Please tell me if you think the appliance is faulty or if this is expected - i.e., a bulb needs replacing every six months?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Scratch the cooktop on the first day with my pots I am not impressed with the glass cooktop. I used the detergent and sponge that the builder provided us and the cooktop always never look clean. You can see the path that you wiped the cooktop. And I used the pans bought from Macys, and disappointingly, it left an inch scratch on the cooktop. It could be me not paying attention to what type of pot I shouldn't be using, but I won't be buying this if those common pots can't be used with this stove.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cooks & bakes great! I bought this stove 4 months ago. It cooks great and bakes evenly. Easy to clean and looks terrific. There are two things GE should change. The color of the knobs for each burner are black and need a marker (arrow in stainless?) on each to more readily read what level of heat the burner is on. Also the lower drawer is difficult to pull out without a handle. The indentation on top of the door is not enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall just a great product Not only affordable, but a great product in general. Never has any issues getting water boiling fast. If I had to pick any kind of complaint it'd only be cleaning that glass top. However, that's any glass top you purchase. And finger prints!!!! That's a personal problem I guess lol purchasing stainless steel and having a 2 year old just don't mix. Very nice simple oven.
