Answer:
On all old dryers it is best to change out the cable with the wright 50 amp plug. I would not use an adapter on a dryer.

If the plug will not fit your existing installation location you need to refer to an electrician before proceeding.

I have a new generator that needs a 30 amp 4 prong plug to connect to its outlet panel; My existing generator power cable from the house electric panel has a 20 amp four prong plug which does not fit into the new generator panel. Is there an adapter going from a 20amp four prong plug to 30 amp four prong plug into a generator?

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by There are better made adapters available This adapter is exclusively for "RV" use. I thought I could rewire it for non-RV use, but the internals are not using wires to make the inconnections. It uses formed metal inconnections which make changes to the internal connections almost impossible. Also, the 14-50R end has a big air gap between the outer and inner face. Basically, this adapter was designed to be as cheaply made as possible, so I cannot recommend it. October 28, 2014
