After 6 weeks of use, I have found that cleaning the cook surface using the ceramic cleaner that is recommended for use causes minor scratches in the surface. The issue with this is that the surface is so shiny every single scratch is visible. If you use the ceramic cooktop cleaner this generates a ton of tiny scratches. My last oven was 9 years old and we never had this issue.
What I'm describing is when you take a dish rag with the liquid ceramic cleaner and apply elbow force with your finger and try to rub off some residue from spilled pasta.
The second problem with the oven is that the top oven has what I believe to be a temperature sensor sticking way out into the middle of the oven. So the top oven appears big but you can't put just anything into it. This sensor prevents that.
I like all the multiple cooking surface options, this is really nice. Heats up fast, cools down quick too.
I would not buy this again as the visual appearance is VERY important to me and I have a 6 week old stove that looks worse than my previous 9 year old.
I also think that things are harder to get off of this surface than my old stove.
Note: the only reason I changed ovens is because my fridge broke, dishwasher was on its way out and my wife wanted all stainless so the oven and microwave had to go too.
I've uploaded a photo- Inner circle look at 10 o'clock and 12:30. Zoom in on the hazy areas.
Outer circle between 1 o'clock and 2:30. You will see scratches but the haziness is much more visible just standing in the kitchen than it is in the photo.

I've only had this double oven for a few weeks - but it's 5 stars all the way, so far. Very even cooking on the stove top and both ovens. Love the warming burner on top...very convenient for not overcooking sauces, and everything stays warm.
It is really beautiful, too - Since it's a new model, we bought it sight unseen, and didn't have reviews to go by...took a chance - and I'm very pleased! (Please note on the included pic: our granite was just installed, so we have not adjusted the stove height quite yet.)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dale Wonderful Stove - Well Worth the Purchase
I highly recommend the purchase of this electric range. I was a little hesitant to buy it, since I have no experience with ceramic cooktop stoves. However, I am glad I did. It is much easier to keep clean than a conventional stove/oven. After a few days of cooking with it, I look forward to using it. The only reason why I did not rate the features as "excellent" is that I had to purchase new cookware to avoid scratching or damaging the ceramic cooktop. I am glad I read the manual and read about the experiences of others who own a similar appliance, so I would not damage it. Once you know the "rules," it really is a breeze and a pleasure to use.

Beautiful oven in our renovated kitchen! Great option Thor small family as single oven too large to warm up small dishes!

The GE Range w double oven is a wonderful help to us. We live on an island full time, and wanted to use the small upper oven to replace our toaster over, and it does!!! the lower oven does a great job baking christmas pumpkin bread, roasts, and casseroles. We didn't need the convection option, and we found this to be a great find. The stove top seems wonderful so far as we are cooking away for the holidays. and my wife loves this top.
the BUT: We had the item shipped to a ferry where I inspected, and then had it delivered to the island, and inspected again, then we unpacked from the cardboard and styrofoam base. We found no dents or scratches. So we moved it into place, and then removed the tape, styrofoam, and cardboard holding things in place for the entire oven. And that's when we found the hidden blob, under the tape. Someone had tried to repair scratches by blobbing something on the ride side in the rear that looks atrocious. There is no way to hide this, it is a blob of something covering bad scratches. I would have expected GE to sell this as a second - see the pictures. If GE agrees to do something, I'll update this review or write a new one

We've had this range for over 6 months now and it's been everything we'd hoped it would be. The upper oven is all we use and it heats up FAST. It's nice to have the lower oven if we ever want to make a turkey but otherwise we mostly store baking dishes in it. Stove top heats evenly and the power boil element really does boil water quicker. Plus, it looks really good in the kitchen. If I had to have a suggestion for future models it would be that there were multiple timers for the separate ovens and that the timer alarm was louder. I would also personally prefer that the power boil be in the back burner for kid safety but really these are pretty trivial complaints.

We decided that is was time for a new stove and my wife wanted to look into a double oven stainless model and so our search began. After researching and reading nearly every review for every double stove brand, we decided that the GE 6.6 CU.FT. model was the one to go with. Even know it was less costly model compared to the others, it provided nearly the same amentities, appearance, and quality as the more expensive ones.
We haggled a bit about going to full push-button model versus one with knobs and we're glad we went with the model with knobs. The LG all-push button digital model might seem high tech, but if you have kids and you want to be able to disengage the heat on the burners fairly quickly to minimize injury, trying to find the right buttons to do this may become a hazard especially if you are in panic mode. Therefore, we opted for this model for safety reasons.
This stove is so easy to use, everything is laid out perfectly and both ovens can operate independant or tandem with each other. Each oven, especially the top oven cooks evenly and quickly as for the larger lower oven, pre-heating is essential just like any other oven to achieve timely cook times.
As previous review suggested, the topper is made of glass, but so do the rest of the ovens of this type of mode, and subject to scratching. Thus far, we've had the oven for two months, have had multiple pans cooking, and have had plenty of cooking utensils both plastic and metal laying on this topper and there are no scratches to report. Cleaning it is a breeze and we use simple mild soap and warm water on a scratch-free scrubber and sponge combo and it works perfectly. Nice and shiny, no scratching of the surface. We have yet to have to use the self-cleaning function of the oven, but I have no doubt it will come in handy. One of the greatest feature is the front burners have two heat rings to accomodate different size pans. You can adjust which ring you want to do just that from the control panel. All burners heat and cool down very quickly; this is awesome!!
While still pricey, it's a bargain and well worth every bit of the $1120 I paid for it (Including power cable). It's an excellent stove and brand!
