Go with 4 plug as that is the new Code. Cords do not come with the Range, so buy a 4 conduction cord, to match your 4 conductor plug.

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. We do not package the power cord with our ranges as it is not possible to determine the type of facilities each of our consumer's has available or what the local electrical codes require. We recommend checking with your local electrical code to determine the type of plug this range will require. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

I just measured 10 inches. This is due to a probe that sticks out into the middle of the oven. BAD Design. I didn't see this until I had it.

Hello irene - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This range offers an Owner's Manual that contains a Cooking Guide. It does not come with a cookbook. The cookbooks were omitted from our ranges years ago as most people have their own special cookbooks or recipes they like using that are more catered to their style of cooking. I hope this helps! I just found instructions, no cookbook. Controls on left are for the small oven (top), controls on right for bottom (larger) oven. Use either oven as a regular oven, BUT, we use the upper to replace our toaster oven since it is so much quicker.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase This stove go way beyond my expectation. Am enjoying it. February 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Double Oven I've only had this double oven for a few weeks - but it's 5 stars all the way, so far. Very even cooking on the stove top and both ovens. Love the warming burner on top...very convenient for not overcooking sauces, and everything stays warm. It is really beautiful, too - Since it's a new model, we bought it sight unseen, and didn't have reviews to go by...took a chance - and I'm very pleased! (Please note on the included pic: our granite was just installed, so we have not adjusted the stove height quite yet.) September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Range, but there is a defect in the appearance The GE Range w double oven is a wonderful help to us. We live on an island full time, and wanted to use the small upper oven to replace our toaster over, and it does!!! the lower oven does a great job baking christmas pumpkin bread, roasts, and casseroles. We didn't need the convection option, and we found this to be a great find. The stove top seems wonderful so far as we are cooking away for the holidays. and my wife loves this top. the BUT: We had the item shipped to a ferry where I inspected, and then had it delivered to the island, and inspected again, then we unpacked from the cardboard and styrofoam base. We found no dents or scratches. So we moved it into place, and then removed the tape, styrofoam, and cardboard holding things in place for the entire oven. And that's when we found the hidden blob, under the tape. Someone had tried to repair scratches by blobbing something on the ride side in the rear that looks atrocious. There is no way to hide this, it is a blob of something covering bad scratches. I would have expected GE to sell this as a second - see the pictures. If GE agrees to do something, I'll update this review or write a new one December 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by See my photo before you buy After 6 weeks of use, I have found that cleaning the cook surface using the ceramic cleaner that is recommended for use causes minor scratches in the surface. The issue with this is that the surface is so shiny every single scratch is visible. If you use the ceramic cooktop cleaner this generates a ton of tiny scratches. My last oven was 9 years old and we never had this issue. What I'm describing is when you take a dish rag with the liquid ceramic cleaner and apply elbow force with your finger and try to rub off some residue from spilled pasta. The second problem with the oven is that the top oven has what I believe to be a temperature sensor sticking way out into the middle of the oven. So the top oven appears big but you can't put just anything into it. This sensor prevents that. I like all the multiple cooking surface options, this is really nice. Heats up fast, cools down quick too. I would not buy this again as the visual appearance is VERY important to me and I have a 6 week old stove that looks worse than my previous 9 year old. I also think that things are harder to get off of this surface than my old stove. Note: the only reason I changed ovens is because my fridge broke, dishwasher was on its way out and my wife wanted all stainless so the oven and microwave had to go too. I've uploaded a photo- Inner circle look at 10 o'clock and 12:30. Zoom in on the hazy areas. Outer circle between 1 o'clock and 2:30. You will see scratches but the haziness is much more visible just standing in the kitchen than it is in the photo. January 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the versatility!! Beautiful oven in our renovated kitchen! Great option Thor small family as single oven too large to warm up small dishes! December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Stove - Well Worth the Purchase I highly recommend the purchase of this electric range. I was a little hesitant to buy it, since I have no experience with ceramic cooktop stoves. However, I am glad I did. It is much easier to keep clean than a conventional stove/oven. After a few days of cooking with it, I look forward to using it. The only reason why I did not rate the features as "excellent" is that I had to purchase new cookware to avoid scratching or damaging the ceramic cooktop. I am glad I read the manual and read about the experiences of others who own a similar appliance, so I would not damage it. Once you know the "rules," it really is a breeze and a pleasure to use. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great oven with a retro look! Love the convenience of a double oven...goodbye toaster oven! This oven has a retro look which looks great in my new kitchen. Wish it had a toasting option and I haven't used it that long, but so far so good! September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! This range/oven works great for anybody hoping to have a double oven but not enough room for a wall model. The range is easy to use and heats food and water quickly. The options to use larger and smaller burners is a nice feature, especially when cooking with large and small pots and pans. The double oven could not be easier to use. The range looks great with other stainless steel appliances. Overall a great product! June 11, 2015
