Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too blue for my application I'm a big fan of LEDs for home lighting - Long life & savings on the electric bill. These are 'candelabra base' - what you would call a standard light bulb with a ~1/2" diameter base. I installed 4 of these LED bulbs to replace equivalent light output incandescent bulbs in a hallway ceiling light. This is why I split the difference in light output by using different bulbs. They are way over bright, way too much 'blue' light to my liking for this application. I don't have a dimmer switch installed, but that won't compensate for the color. This is obviously a wrong application for these bulbs. These bulbs are intense! I would use them in shop / workspace or office environments. I would not recommend them for a family room to watch tv or bedroom. They (GE) does not indicate color temperature on the package. Instead the are attempting to register/trademark 'color names'; 'refresh, 'reveal' and 'relax'. I understand most consumers don't understand 'color temperature'; but an in store display clearly shows the differences. These are probably +6000K. Most bulbs are in the the 2000-6000K range. I will need to use them in other areas of the house, They are not suitable for the hallway; unless I need to fix drywall or repaint the area. All four of these bulbs combined (2 x 4W + 2 X 6.5W) ~ 20 Watts, use less power than one of my 25W incandescents. My photographs show the difference before/after, and I'm not a professional photographer. My local store has a good 'light box' display for the 'colors' of LEDs, perhaps yours does too. It is best to see what you like, for different applications, in person. These bulbs should be good +10 years, (the box says 13 years (@ / 3 hours/day) 20,000 hour life). They have a 5 year warranty.

The design of the bulb limits the amount of light delivered downward - most light seems to be delivered horizontally. There were many other lights which I am certain would have had a better light delivery pattern, however this was the only one available with the bright white light temp. (all the other LED candelabra lights I could find were designed to produce a much more yellow light (simulating candle-light, which is nifty, but not what we were looking for). So if you are after a white light and you are okay with less than optimal downward illumination, this bulb will do fine.

We bought some of these daylight bulbs in Idaho when we were getting our rental home ready to sell. I honestly believe that great lighting helped sell that home in less than 3 days! And the Behr paint! We loved the brightness so much we have replaced almost all the lightbulbs in our home to these daylight bulbs. The only lightbulbs we left the same were 2 of the natural lightbulbs in the dining room as 3 of the daylight bulbs were too bright and blinding!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Light/Less Energy! I'm using these GE Refresh 60W equivalent bulbs in the pendant track in my bathroom. The track only supports bulbs up to a 40W maximum which is not enough light for applying makeup, etc. I previously had used the 60W equivalent soft white bulbs and, even though they worked well, they weren't as bright as these daylight HD bulbs. I love the bright, white light of these daylight bulbs! ... Great for aging eyes and I have used this type of lighting throughout my home. They just make me feel better as well as being able to see better! They are a little pricey, but, they are dimmable and they are guaranteed to last 5 years at 3 hours per day using only 6.5W.

It took 2 lights. The fixture required the use of these small base bulbs. Previously I had curly lights installed, the largest possible and it did not seem bright enough. These new LED bulbs were very bright, plus I saved about 10 watts overall.
