Answer:
Most Home Depot locations offer free installation and haul away of the old dryer, if you wish. Interestingly, the men who did this said they worked for G.E. [not Home Depot] and came from the main G.E. warehouse in Seattle.

Technically, how hot a clothes dryer gets depends on which part of the unit you are considering. The hottest area of the clothes dryer occurs in the heating element. Air is drawn into the heater duct and heated to temperatures ranging from 200°F-300°F. Once the air reaches the inside of the drum, evaporating water cools the air to 90°F-170°F.

7.0 cu. ft. Capacity DuraDrum Electric Dryer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Thorough and Simple to Use I bought this dryer along with the matching GE top load washer GTWN2800DWW. I wanted a dryer without the new computer controls. This dryer has the old school, electromechanical rotary controls that always work and are simple to use. The dryer is very quiet, dries loads fast and lint free. The auto dry control is really effective when set on Optimum Dry, all the loads dry completely, with no random items or areas that are still damp. I am very pleased with this dryer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from such a great upgrade Our old dryer was 20yrs old and was making some nasty noises. We went to our local Home Depot store and looked at and chose this dryer because it was priced right and had features that we wanted. Since putting it in our elecric bill has dropped an average of 25 dollars a month and our clothes are dried much quicker. The moisture sensing option really works, as the machine won't keep running after the clothes are dry. This unit is well worth it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical and Value of the GE 7.0 cu. ft. Capacity DuraDrum Electric Dryer from the Home Depot I searched on-line, physically combed the local appliance stores, as well as discount outlets previous to making a decision to purchase a clothes dryer. Where parents teach the meaning of value from being thrifty on a restrictive budget and where college offers many examples in order to hone research methods in arriving at an informed and reasonable conclusion does save both time, as well as ones hard earned money. That being said a decision was made for the “GE 7.0 cu. ft. Capacity DuraDrum Electric Dryer” found to be economical and of value from the Home Depot for the following reasons: Manual Control; as digital controls on appliances often fail due to vibration and the service calls for repair generally cost more than the part in need of replacement. DuraDrum; resists scratches from athletic equipment such as braces, protective gear, and common clothing such as support cups, underwire bra’s, or work safety equipment such as coveralls, knee pads and other clothing that contain hard plastic or metal. The dryer is in the basement where it is at times moist and a scratch in a drum would mean rust coming in contact with delicate clothing such as a sweater, dress shirts and slacks or a full queen bed comforter or bedding sheets and pillow cases. Wrinkle Care Extended Tumble / Dewrinkle; does not eliminate wrinkles such as with a wrinkle free bed sheet set, but is effective on certain down filled comforters, pillows, as well as a reduction to other clothing where steam ironing is of necessity by half the time when in comparison to line dried clothing. Quick Fluff; does provide an enhancement of clean long stored delicates along with a new fabric softener sheet such as sweaters, jackets, exercise and sport clothing. Variable End-Of-Cycle Signal; the first time it was set to loud and sent the cat almost two feet in the air and across the house which is nice if the dryer is located in the basement or behind a closed door. This unit is generally set to off which is also a plus not offered by other manufactures of 7.0 cu. Ft. clothes dryers and is pleasant when in utilization prior to bedtime. Auto Dry; I have not monitored this feature to comment on effectiveness. Timed Dry; other manufacturers in the price range for a 7.0 cu. Ft. clothes dryer offer only 30 or 60 minutes of drying time where this model offers a maximal setting of 80 minutes which is nice where a full load may be of requirement. Interior Light; at first considered unnecessary, but later found invaluable where one forgets to turn on the room light and is a personal preference in application. The light bulb can also be removed if considered a hindrance with the only drawback being with power applied to the unit and if the door is ajar the light would remain lit and could perhaps make a nice night lamp depending upon need but check on the hours of illumination on the bulb before taking this opinion to the literal concept. Removable Up-Front Lint Filter; as with the other people offering an in depth review the lint filter is economic in construct, but is found to be efficient in purpose for catching lint from clothing and have not noticed any lint passing by the filter as stated in other reviews? It is hoped that this review is found to be an informative one covering most of the design capabilities offered by this appliance. Lastly, the free shipping and placement within the home (e.g., shipping included more than just “curb side service,” did include electrical cord and vent hookups (but not the cost of these two required items) which did add an additional savings of $75 to $150 in comparison to other places offering similar purchases.) The item was purchased almost two weeks prior to the compilation of this customer review. The appliance contains enough space to dry a full queen comforter, or a large load of clothes in approximately 40 minutes or less and likewise smaller loads are completely dry and average a 20 minute drying time on the lowest heat setting which saves on electricity in the long term with regard to the utility bill. Good luck with the future purchase in any regard!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cheaply made one of the worst made dryers I've ever owned, lint screen is so tiny I have to clean 2 times a cycle + door look doesn't snap in correctly
Date published: 2016-06-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well This dryer works well for us, a family of five. I do multiple loads of laundry every day and haven't had a problem with it yet. My only complaint is the noise it makes when a load is done drying. It goes off three times before the dryer turns off and it is obnoxiously loud all three times - to the point that it has scared me a few times. Unfortunately, you can't turn it off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average electric dryer I always like to see reviews from people who had purchase the product and writes a review a year or so later, not a couple of weeks after they've gotten it. Overall, I am pleased with this dryer and the price I paid for it; it does exactly what I want it to do (dry clothes) and it does it well. The only gripe that I have with this product is the quality of the knobs. After a little over a year of using it, the timer knobs cracked (the plastic housing around where it attaches to the timer); I wasn't able to turn the dial. After looking at reviews for replacement knobs, a lot of people claim that their dryer had the same issue as me. So, if your looking to purchase this dryer, which I would recommend, I would just make sure that you have a replacement dial on hand. FYI... the new OEM replacement knob has a metal ring around the plastic to prevent cracking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dryes the clothes You put your clothes in wet, select fabric type and press start and walla, in a short time the buzzer rings and the clothes are dry. What more could a man ask for? Note: It does not fold the clothes for you. Now that would be a nice feature. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
