Answer:
Neither. It is not provided with a power cord. It's best to save the power cord from your existing dryer if you already have one so that the cord and receptacle are compatible. If this is a new installation go with the four prong plug because it has a separate ground wire.

Answer:
Short answer, Yes. But the cord is not particularly expensive--less than $20. However, if you already have and existing dryer, remove the cord on that unit and re-install on the new dryer. It's not very hard for someone of average ability. Check your receptacle first. If you have 3 slots in the receptacle, buy a 3 prong power cord, or a 4 prong if 4 slots--simple!

If you want a brand new cord, you have to pay extra. If you reuse your old cord they won't hook up the dryer for you. It's your choice. :)

door reversible?

I noticed in a comparison of models that this one says it's right swinging.. meaning not reversible? I see on the picture of it though what appears to be hinge marks on the left side and a door catch on the right (as well as left).. it looks like it can be reversed so the handle is on the left as I need it to be.. does this model allow reversing the door?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 1706 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap Cheap Cheap Plastic Knobs I enjoyed this dryer for a year and half then one plastic dial knob broke off the d-shaft. Inspection showed GE used the cheapest, cheapest, cheapest, cheapest, cheapest, cheapest plastic possible. Of course the knob broke just after the 1 year warranty has expired. May 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Dryer is destroying my clothing and towels by generating "pullies." Most likely from poor finishing in the interior spaces. July 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very fast drying time, very quiet. I am very pleased with this dryer. It has a great selection of drying options, and is exceptionally quiet. The only down side is the volume of the buzzer at cycle end. July 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very quiet dryer I've had dryer a few months. Work's well for the money. July 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy!!! Around 6 months it started making this horrible noise like metal on metal. GE repair came out and looked and found the drum rubbing on the front panel. They replaced the drum and front panel and it still happened. He said GE is using cheaper metal on the base and frame and that allows it to shift, causing the drum to come in contact with the front panel. April 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of Money!!! I bought this item, about 1 year ago and it already needs a new timer and timer knob. When removing the old timer, I noticed why the knob broke (notorious for this model). It appears that the mounting bracket for the timer has a design flaw, causing the timer to be loose of one side of the bracket. Since the timer itself has a tight hard design, with each turn of the soft plastic knob, you move the timer with the knob. Over time this action causes the knob to break. Additionally, I just replaced the mate to this dryer. Nothing was wrong with the machine, except the poor performance of it. Was consistently leaving soap or fabric softener residue in the clothes and took forever to wash. I'll be happy, if I am able, to use this dryer for another six to nine months. June 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Dryer, Great Price We purchased this dryer about 2 months ago and so far it has been great. We run about 15 loads a week and have found it to be very efficient. The unit is quiet and well built. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Dryer The dryer works fantastic. Other reviewer were upset that the signal was too loud. It is loud but you can turn it down. It has to be loud enough for you to hear it. If you don't like it turn it off. There is a button on it. It has a very short drying time compared to my other dryer. There is SO much room in it. I can't believe it. Also, I have never had a dryer with a light inside. Now I won't leave any socks or anything else in it. The lint trap is a little flimsy but I just leave it in and run my finger over it. I don't want to take it out too much. Anyway, it works just as well. I have only used the cotton control for drying the clothes and it works good. I would recommend this dryer to all of my friends. Way to go GE January 18, 2014
