There are models w/ power failure back up to keep the input data. That way after the power returns it keeps working.

Answer:
yes, it has an internal battery to preserve your settings. In fact, the screen is so small you probably have to unplug it and take it somewhere with good light to program it, then plug it back in.

Yes, it remembers settings after power failure - how long I don't know. The timer only lasted two weeks for me. Maybe I got a lemon but I after looking around the net others have the same problems - junk.

Answer:
Mikrodon, you can program the timer to turn off after 15 minutes but this timer only has seven programs to use. If I read the question correctly I assume you are wanting the timer to on for 15 minutes and then stay off for 15 minutes and back on for 15 minutes, repeating this cycle 24 hours a day. If this is correct then this timer will not do that since it doesn’t have enough programs to use. Jasco Read More

Search the internet with the model number. I have tried to include a link but it violates T&C for this site. It's not a GE website that you need, just try ge 15089 in the search engine of choice. There's even a youtube video to make it easy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Timers Thesetimers are really great It does exactly what it supposeto do and then some. An excellant security device forthehome August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by One of the worst product choices I've ever made While this product does all the things it is supposed to do - turn on and off at pre-programmed times, with enough variables for most anyone - it is next to impossible to actually use because of the itty-bitty screen size and the complexity of the program choices. Some of the indicators - am/pm/ on/off are barely visible - maybe less than a millimeter tall. And you can only discern them with light falling on the screen exactly perfectly. So if you think about the unit plugged into the wall behind a chair, you need to be on your hands and knees with a flashlight to be able to view the screen. If you want to make an adjustment, you really need to unplug the thing and take it somewhere that it gets good light, and make the adjustment - to be fair, it does stay powered by an internal battery so you can do this. But let's say you want to turn on a light for a moment prior to its programmed time - the on/off button is on the bottom of the unit, and pressing it cycles through 4 choices (on, auto on, off, auto off)- so you can't just press it once to turn the light on, then press again to turn it off and put it back into the program cycle. You have to be able to see the screen to know what part of the program you've left it in. If you set this up once and never touch it again (ever!) then it's ok, but if you might want to turn the light on when the program doesn't have it on, its totally impractical. Faced with all the choices on the rack in the store, I bought this because of the GE name, but I should have thought about it plugged into an outlet behind a chair, and how difficult it would be to interface with the device in real life. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POOR LED display I bought this at a local HD - but the package had the brand name "Defiant" instead - identical visually. I could not use it. The instructions were pretty clear. But it has a display with AM/PM, ON/OFF and Auto/whatever in IMPOSSIBLY SMALL letters on the display. I have 20/25-30 vision, and I STRUGGLED to read them using a magnifier glass. POOR design. If you have 20/20 vision and don't wear glasses, this might be great for you. I'm returning it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised Home Depot delivered the product promptly. And product worked very well. Although the product is advertised to be able to have a back up system in case of power outage, the package and instruction sheet make no mention of that feature. For that reason I did not give it 5 stars. However, The product does have this feature. I tested it, after charging it for 24 hours. Set up and programming very well described in the easy to follow instruction sheet. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quick and easy to set up, and worked as advertised The main reason I purchased this product, rather than a less expensive, standard timer, is the vacation mode that allowed me to set a time range and have lights randomly come on within that range. The options were seemingly endless because each day can be programmed multiple ways (rather than say M-F or Sa-Su). Several reviewers complained about the size of the LCD letters, and I suppose if you have poor vision it could be a problem. But the instructions have pictures of the screen at each step, so it's manageable. And setting up the timers took about 5 minutes after a quick review of the instructions; it's not intuitive that you have to reset the timer before programming. I've already recommended these to others. August 14, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money I thought buying this digital timer would be a welcome upgrade to my noisy mechanical timer that I've been using the past 10+ years. Initially I was very happy with this GE timer, it was silent in operation and has a lot of flexibility in programming. BUT.....Twice in a 8 month period the timer lost the programming and all of the settings had to be re-entered. Then magically a month or two after the 1 year warranty expired, I came home to find my lamps on in the middle of the afternoon. This time, all of my settings were intact but the timer was turning itself on during daylight periods that it was programmed to be off. The "reset" button didn't cure the problem so it went in the garbage. Thankfully, I never threw away my old Intermatic mechanical timer. Please save your money and avoid this product. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Great idea...but failed within a year of use Unfortunately, less than a year, the unit stopped working. I tried the reset button and reprogrammed but it is still dead. First clue is when you switch from Auto to On, you no longer have the relay clicking sound which means something failed in that part of the circuitry. My mechanical timer lasted well over a decade...although it became noisy. I have a a whole house surge protector, thus it should have been protected from transients. July 27, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by one year warranty and that is about as long as it works. It worked great to begin with but after about 1 1/2 yr no longer works. October 25, 2015
