No wiring comes with this kit, just generator and outdoor box with breakers. Runs great, remote really is not usefull. I have it running 3 ton A/C, tv, lights, side by side refrigerator, and some outlets. It's about the same loudness as a 6.5 HP lawn mower. They could have put a better muffler on it but its not to bad in the house. You lose warrenty if you self install but if you know what your doing its around 3,000 for install labor here. That's 2 generators in my book. Either way if it lasts 5 years I'm still ahead something new, bigger, and quieter will be out then its just plug in the new one.

If you are considering a GE generator you should know before you place the non-returnable order that the warranty is void if the install is not signed off by a plumber, electrician and the local officials.
It was my intention to do the install and rough in the electrical and have a licensed electrician do the final inspection and connections, but without the signatures of the local officials and the plumber I have no warranty. This did not come to my attention until after the unit arrived and I read the manuals, at that point it could not be returned. Just something to keep in mind if you are thinking about the GE product.

Do your homework before you buy a propane powered generator. They are awesome units, but the price to run it may not be something you considered. In CT we have a gross receipts tax which is targeted at oil based fuels that are not used for heating. I estimate that to be around $0.25 per gallon. If you run the generator off your existing tank, you will pay 25 cents per gallon more for all the propane you use. In my case the regional dealer charges me currently $5.50/gal for the 100 gallons I use a year., so I will get wacked $25/year more if I don’t use the generator. Recent storms have shown to be 5 day outages, so you need at least a gallon an hour, or 25 gallons per day or 125 gallons per storm. That means a fill up on my 80 gallon tank (which they will not promise to do in a storm) so then a bigger tank is needed. At the $5.75/gal rate it is $718 to run the generator for 5 days. You can probably get a hotel for that money and still have money to pay for the lost food in the fridge. Say you heat with gas and use 1000 gals, you rate is probably around $3.75 a gal and you have a large enough tank to not need a fill. The gross receipts tax will get you $250/year more on the heating side, but a storm will only cost you $500 to run the generator for 5 days. If you have natural gas – you are a lucky person – buy the generator.

We decided to purchase a generator after Super Storm Sandy. This generator made us so happy we did. We've had some prolonged power outages since our purchase and it has proved to be an asset in our home. We have alot of outages where we live and a generator is a must! We're so glad we chose this one, it's fantastic. Thankyou for making such a great product.

I have had this generator for almost two years and have had about 4 power outages in that time. Some for only a few hours, some for over 4 hours. The generator started automatically when needed and shut down each time without any problems. It has started once a week for the diagnostic exercise cycle. The only time it did not start for the exercise cycle was this January when the temperature was 11 below zero for a high daytime temperature and the night before, the temperature was more than 20 degrees below zero. That bothered me a bit, because if there were a power outage at that time, I would have had to have a service call to start the unit. I called the electrician that installed the generator and they offer a 24/7 emergency service and I feel confident that if a power outage had occurred at that time, it would have been serviced. The next day, the temperature was only about zero, but the generator started for an exercise cycle with no problem. The size of the unit is perfect for me. It is more than adequate for all the basic electrical devices and most importantly... the furnace.
