Yes it does. They come with the a/c unit in the box. There is a minor installation (please read the directions to get them installed correctly as one is specifically designed for the left and one for the right) but once installed they help sheild loss of cool air and keep the bugs out. I recently installed two GE units to aid our central heating/cooling system cool our house to the desired temps. The recent heat wave (July 2015) that has set new records across the nation has everyones central a/c systems running constantly to keep their houses cool and these GE units work effortlessly to help cool my house. I found through price comparison, browser research and actual ownership that GE has the best prices, a/c units on the market and you cant go wrong installing these unit/s to battle the heat. I still have two in their boxes ready to install if we get hit with a hurricane that knocks out our power (& the central a/c). Back in 2005 for Hurricane Katrina one GE a/c unit running off my $4000.00 Wacker Portable Generator was enough to keep my family (when they returned home one&1/2 weeks later) as well as my friends family (who stayed with us when they returned) cool for the duration of the power outage that lasted over a month as Entergy worked day/night to replace all the downed lines& damaged transfer stations. I had stayed as a Law Enforcement Ofc. on the Northshore Anyway when you do install the unit, those side accordian spacers regardless of make are all kind of thin so what I do is use the styrofoam packaging material to increase the thermal insulation properties. If you do this correctly they will not impead the normal function of the unit and it will help to keep the heat on the outside (from the unit as well as the weather) and from creating hotspots/inefficient weather seal on either side of the a/c. Once again these accordian window seals are an industry standard and are all inefficient ways to insulate the void created on either side of a window a/c unit. I surmise that it keeps the cost in manufacturing down so do the sensable thing and recycle that styrofoam packaging to keep the cold air in, the heat out and your energy bill low. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE Room Air conditioner It's quiet. Easily installed. Cooled the room down in a jiffy. Digital controls are a plus. Love it! August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I was expecting I read alot of the reviews and how well it cooled but after turning it on was not that happy with the air coming out would have expected colder air then this it did cool down the living room but it did take a few hours to do so i am just hoping that when it gets hotter then 85 outside that this unit will do the job. Room size have it in is a 10 by 10 and yes it is on the loud side i have heard older units quieter then this July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Air Conditioner We purchased this GE 8,100 air conditioner to cool 2 bedrooms in a split level home, we have a GE 10,050 that we purchased 2 years ago to cool the living space. We love the energy saver setting and the remote is magnetized so it attaches to the air cond. so its always accessible. it was put to the test this weekend when it got to 90 degrees. it performed great!!! lots of extras come with it like foam pieces for insulation. don't hesitate to purchase this unit. June 27, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Too LOUD!! I purchased this air conditioner 3 weeks ago and have used numerous times. We placed it in our living room but it is so loud that we can't watch TV or even have a conversation without yelling. If you like noise while sleeping I would recommend getting this for a bedroom but not for any living space. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, quiet Bought this for my mother to replace a much larger 220v unit that was loud and not very efficient. Not much difference in cooling power which surprised me. Very nice unit. Supe r quiet. July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chilllax After extensive research and reading many reviews this is one unit you will get more bang for the buck. Easy install, and operation Quiet July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Very Happy with this product. Will recoment to anybody. July 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dead after 2 seasons. Same problem as "Breezy". Used for 2 seasons, June through September, just installed for this season and air temp at outlet only reaches 78 degrees. Filter and fins are clean and clear. Just as well I guess, because this unit makes such a racket when running that we couldn't hold a normal conversation. I replaced it with a Friedrich unit that is much, much quieter and cools much more evenly. June 12, 2016
