Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your question on the GE Chest Freezer model # FCM9DTWH.
A freezer should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet (115 volt, 60 hertz, single phase AC).
The freezer should be on a dedicated circuit. This is recommended for best performance and to prevent
overloading house wiring circuits. It requires a 15 amp fuse/breaker.
I hope this helps!

Hello Texas Mike,
Thank you for choosing the GE Chest freezer model # FCM9DTWH.
Upon initial installation, or when the settings on the temperature controls are changed, it usually takes 24 hours to reach the proper temperature. When quick-freezing large amounts of food, turn control to No. 9 two hours before loading. Return control setting to No. 1 after freezing is completed.
When a large amount of food is placed in the freezer, it will transfer its warmth to the freezer, which will cause the compressor to run more as the freezer cools down the food. There is an established maximum of food that your freezer is designed to freeze at one time - approximately 3 pounds per cubic foot capacity. After allowing 24 hours to freeze, you may add another 3 pounds per cubic foot capacity.
I hope this helps!

Answer:
It's on the bottom left side of the unit. The instructions said to put it at 4 initially. I haven't changed it since because the food freezes quickly and I don't get hardly any ice build-up. But then again I've only had it for a month so far.

8.8 cu. ft. Chest Freezer in White is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a growing family We're expecting a baby in a couple of months and wanted to freeze some meals in advance. We needed something that would fit in our utility room in the basement (tight fit going down the stairs). This freezer has more than enough space for a family of four. Love the lock (for safety) and the light (convenient for the basement or a garage). It's neither too big nor too small. And the energy efficiency is nice too, because some freezers require so much power, that we would have needed to bring another circuit into the basement. Would definitely recommend this freezer to others who have similar needs to ours. Delivery was on time and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just make sure it is working before you get food to fill I am very happy with my purchase and have no buyers remorse. The freezer has adequate storage space and while deep for me (I'm only 5'3') I can still reach the bottom. Currently it is filed with bulk purchases from Bulk Stores and a mail order steak company. Lots of food we couldn't take advantage of with my side-by-side fridge. My only advise would be MAKE SURE it is freezing properly before you fill it with food. My first freezer seemed to be cooling off appropriately when we left to go shopping. It wasn't till the next day (Saturday) that we discovered it was only getting to refrigerator temp, not freezer temp. As it was a holiday weekend I had to wait for Tues to call for a replacement and lost some of the food. The replacement was delivered the next Saturday and has been working just fine. I do give high marks to the service center and the delivery people, both were courteous and quick to make sure I was satisfied with everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Did the trick! First, You schedule the date and time when you want the product delivered, so not to disrupt your own busy schedule. Second, Freindly, courteous, and fast deliverymen. Third, The product works as advertised. Just had to plug it in. Wait about 4 hours and then start loading your frozen items. Simply Perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This freezer is larger than I realized. I love this freezer. The light in the lid is a real help,as we have it set in the garage were the lighting is not that great and it's exactly what we need. The size is perfect because we can now stock up which will help save us money in the long run. When it was delivered the men who delivered were very nice and helpful with the questions we asked them about the freezer. No regrets in purchasing this freezer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough The baskets are made of light plastic and I don't expect them to last long. Other than that all is well and it has be running for 3 months now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greaat little freezer! We were actually having steaks stolen from our freezer on our porch! We got this one since it has a lock on it & no more stolen meat! For the reviewer above who said they wished it had a light in it... Are you sure you are reviewing the right freezer? This model DOES have a light in it. Great that it has 2 baskets in it for a smaller freezer too. Very easy to organize!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Additional freezing capacity Purchased this freezer to compliment an upright freezer that I already had so as to handle garden produce and take advantage of sales. I researched several models and determined that while this one was a bit more expensive than a number of them this model seemed to the best value for the price. Have had it for only a month but it has been working well and has a couple of nice features such as a light in the lid and the baskets are sturdy. The only thing that I would have liked to have on it is a power light to show that it is on without having to lift the lid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Like! To early to determine if, there are any defects but, thus far it's working and running as advertised. Really love the fact that it has a light inside. This item being a new purchase is, the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star.
