Customer Questions & Answers

when putting on the dryer vent hose, it says to make sure the hose isnt smashed or bent, how do we keep from doing that?

i cant figure it out
Asked by: Anonymous
Once installed just be sure to have enough room behind the dryer for the hose and don't shove the machines into it too hard. Also don't store anything like brooms or mops behind your dryer on top of the duct. Other than that its pretty stiff stuff. Depending on the size of your dryer vent and vent line in the wall you may have to "squish" the line with a hose clamp to get it secured. This type of "bending/smashing" is ok at the ends to ensure an airtight connection.

will this type of semi rigid dryer duct hose catch fire and burn

I heard that some dryer hoses can catch fire if lint in hose gets to hot
Asked by: Rachael
This is metal and won't easily burn. Don't NOT use it inside a finished wall. It's for hooking the dryer to a wall vent, or, a simple, exposed 'up and out' short basement vent. Have someone clean the entire dryer vent yearly, and you won't have any problems.

8 ft. Semi-Rigid Dryer Duct is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 141.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok but not best product The product comes with cheap clamps and I ended up using the old clamps to ensure a proper fit. Before changing out the clamps, the duct would pull off the dryer outlet and the wall receiver. I would look at other options if I was purchasing again.

You have to be careful stretching the material to the full length and, then, have to ensure the clamps are completely seated on the duct pipe you are connecting to in order for clamps to tighten on the duct pipe and not just a portion. If not properly seated and clamped and you stretch the pipe to connect to the next pipe, this may damage the pipe. Not hard but must be very careful. Actually, I wanted rigid 6'-8' sections of aluminum duct piping but this is not available in stores. This product worked ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from way better than the soft duct I was cleaning behind my dryer and noticed my old duct needed replacement. It was one if those soft flexible ones. This one is way better. Its still flexible but does not trap lint like the other. Does a much better job of keeping its shape. Its still tough to make fit but including worm rings and using some tin snips does the job.

I just bought this product this week, and it meets my expectations with no complaints. What I like most about this product is that I can move my dyer around some and the product will extend instead of having to buy another one. The clamps stay in place with no problems.

If there is any chance you need more than 6.0-6.5 ft - buy a longer length. Otherwise the duct is a small advertised and performs as expected.

When trying to fit over the exhaust vent on the drier it does not fit well. The clamps are poor quality and do not fit over the pipe. The duct can come apart easily when trying to fit over the vents.
