Hello, when my microwave was first installed, the light worked fine. However, within three days both had stopped working. I bought a new light from HD and it worked for one day, then it went out as well. There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong at this point.

My original bulbs lasted 30-45 days. I did purchase off brand bulbs for replacement and they are working fine. New bulbs are maybe 60 days old. These bulbs are not cheap. Maybe GE over engineered this aspect of the microwave....

I have a new Adora microwave model no. DVM1950SR2SS. The HD installers did not oput in the charcoal filter. I now know why. After removing the 2 screws on the top as the instructions said. The grill is still secured across the bottom and the left side is restrained by the door hinge. What's the trick ???

You hit the nail on the head with the problem. You would have to destroy the grill cover to get it off of the oven & that will cost upwards of 30.00 or more for the part. If my husband were not experienced in several years of appliance repair, we would not have a charcoal filter in the unit. The oven had to be taken down and all of the screws to the casing of the microwave removed top, sides & back. Then manually fit the filter into place at the angle mentioned in instructions and replace the cover to the microwave & the many screws that had been removed were replaced. That's the truth. Lots of fun for two.

Hi Carol,
The glass turntable is available, the part number is WB49X10063, the price is $113.50 plus shipping.
At that price you might want to consider a new microwave.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 73 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this microwave! I read some negative reviews of this microwave but decided to purchase anyway. My old Adora was 8+ years old and needed a new costly microtron to fix. I decided to purchase another Adora as I liked the appliance and it matched my frig, stove and dishwasher. My husband and I installed it. We had no problems with installation, nor did we have problems with the door aligning to the rest of the unit. We did, however, have a problem with the vent staying on constantly. The manufacturer came to our home within 4 days of installation and corrected the problem within 5 minutes. I would recommend this microwave, especially if you need it to match your current appliances. September 17, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Happy with the performance... BUT BE FOREWARNED Bought this microwave along with a matching stove. The microwave cooks quickly and I like it very much HOWEVER the door is sagging 1/8" - just as rip44 stated. Thinking that I might be too critical I asked my teen to check it out, and he noticed it immediately. GE came down and checked it out and the guy indicated that there was no adjustment for the door alignment, and he recommended that I have Home Depot replace it. Guess what - the new unit is also misaligned (check out pic). When I checked at the store I was not surprised to see that the store unit was also off. What's the deal? This is just pathetic quality control! February 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DVM1950SRSS Satisfied So Far Did the install myself. Went well. Instructions were adequate. Product looks great and works great after one week. Good features. Will update review if we have any problems. November 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Features Love the features for price. Looks good coupled with the GE double oven range/ stovetop . June 19, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Garbage This is the worst appliance purchase I've ever made. I bought it as a set with the GE Adora range and refrigerator. It lasted less than 2 years. I noticed the door was misaligned as soon as it was taken out of the box. I called GE and when the service rep came out and looked at it, he told me the doors are assembled in a way to allow for some movement and it is not a defect. Um... I don't care what you call it, it shouldn't be misaligned. Less than 2 years later, a loud buzzing sound starting vibrating through the entire unit when I shut the door and wasn't even using it. I had to unplug it to get the noise to stop. GE came out again and took it apart. They charged me $89.95 just to come out. The estimate to replace the defective parts (monitor switch and main assembly, which GE still uses in other models), plus labor totaled $383. A brand new microwave cost me less than that. The model is now discontinued and after my experience with it and after reading all the reviews, I can see why. The product is just a piece of garbage. Between this experience and problems with a GE washer, I will never buy another GE product again. If I could give a rating of zero I would. June 20, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! Not long after buying this microwave, it started making a weird buzzing noise. Now it doesn't work at all, actually everything works except it doesn't heat the food. Pretty important feature in a microwave! And, it's out of warranty, it was expensive and I would recommend steering completely away from it! Does have nice features, but those features are pointless in a microwave that cannot heat food. Buy something else. We are shopping today for a new one and will definitely buy a different manufacturer. And it heated unevenly. We should have taken it back once it started making the noise, but didn't. Hopefully, our next one will last longer than this one did. May 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome features and size Performs flawlessly. Many features I'm still learning about more than a year after starting to use it daily. April 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by One year out and working great I've been using this microwave for a year. No complaints. In fact, what I am most pleased with is how evenly food cooks so it doesn't splatter nearly as much as my old Whirlpool. I had no idea food could cook more evenly in a microwave without having to constantly stop and stir. The basic controls are easy to use, with some nice quick cooking buttons. I occasionally use defrost and popcorn settings, but don't use any other features. Stainless steel finishes are always a problem with streaks and fingerprints, but the GE finish is better than others. Bonus, I like that you can turn off all the annoying beeps. Nice!
