I use a microfiber cloth and homemade cleanser (Dawn Soap, Water, and Vinegar). We were told to not use anything but a soft cloth, or the finish will scratch. It is almost impossible to keep clean.

Hello,
The steel exterior of the GE refrigerator is coated with a high quality baked-on finish. However, without proper care degradation of this finish can occur and permit rust spots to form on the outside of the cabinet.
To keep your refrigerator looking new and provide protection for the exterior paint finish, we recommend that you apply a coat of appliance polish wax (wr97x216 - 8 ounces) to the refrigerator when you purchase it, and then at least twice a year.
Proper care of the paint finish will help maintain the new look and provide protection against rusting.
This is especially important for appliances that are located near the ocean because of the salt, sand, and humid air.
If the exterior should become soiled, wipe it off with a clean cloth lightly dampened with appliance polish or a mild household detergent. Use a clean, soft cloth to dry and polish the cleaned surface.
I hope this helps!

Answer:
It comes with a new filter. If your pre-filter is better than the MFW then the MFW will never stop up. If it does it means it caught particles that got passed your RO water system. So I would just leave it in there and see. And yes, you can bypass it with the cap.

If connecting the RO to the refrigerator, the MWF would not be needed. Yes, you can permanently install the Bypass plug.
GE no longer manufactures an RO icemaker kit, The kit provides the proper water pressure required to operate the icemaker. Without the proper water pressure, the refrigerator water valve would be damaged. This could also damage the icemaker, causing it to fail.
The pressure you’ll get from the RO unit is about 2/3 of the incoming line pressure unless you have a Permeate Pump installed on the RO system.
I would suggest to check with a plumber for proper installation of the RO system.

Hello Lucky,

* With a new installation, it may take 12-24 hours before the icemaker cools down enough (16 degrees F) to call for water.
* Ice production is dependant upon the temperature of the freezer. If the temperature in the freezer is too warm, ice cubes will take longer to form or may not form at all. Adjusting the temperature will help this.
* Very little food, or no food, in the refrigerator or freezer sections may slow down the production of ice. More food in the refrigerator allows temperatures to remain more stable.
If the above suggestions do not help, then I recommend having it checked by a service technician. Please see the following link for scheduling service.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Good!!! We bought this refrigerator last fall and I thought maybe all the noises it was making there was a problem so I called the serviceman. When he came out and checked he said it was working just like its supposed to. This Adora is so loud!!! It sounds like a coffee pot brewing only lots louder!!! My refrigerator that I owned before this one was not loud at all!!! And he said that I was catching it between the defrosting cycle when my ice cream in the freezer was so soft!!! I guess i'm really talented at just the right moment to eat ice cream!!! Turn the freezer up and it was so hard you could not dip it out with a scoop!!!! So between the Loud noises and the freezer, I would NOT RECOMMEND this one at all!!! February 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad at this price I guess its the sign of the times, not made as well as my last 2 units, both Ge, water and ice work nice, emptied out my old 17.9 into this 25.9 and thought I would have a TON of room left but not as much as i though. One problem i do have is that when you go to open doors it will roll towards you, its located on a tile floor. i had to put a penny in ft of the wheel to stop it, other than that, should last a bit, led lights are a nice option, altho I can see them being expensive to fix, along with the digital ft control panel altho it does look nice. Overall a decent deal at 1100 for a lg. fridge. February 27, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Appliance Purchase I Have Ever Had We purchased this fridge after leaving our last Frigidaire at our last home for the new owners. We had absolutely no problems with it and it was around three years old. We purchased this GE with the hopes that it would be durable as GE is a pretty big name. It has been quite the contrary!!! While I cannot not say that it has stopped working yet, it has had some other problems where I call quality into question. This thing is LOUD!!!! The icemaker is undependable with it sometimes making ice or waiting until it is completely empty, then making ice after I jiggle random parts, Now the door has gone past it's catch and opens wide every time I open the door. I can say that I will not ever purchase a GE refrigerator again and strongly question their other appliances. September 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Please don't allow other reviews about ice on kitchen floor scare you away from purchase. I also did A TON of research. I like to over-analyze. I ran into a lot of poor reviews re: the ice maker. For this, and other models. If one holds their glass properly, the ice will go into the glass. Not on the floor. Remember the ice makers job. To churn and breakdown ice cubes at your request. Remembe the convenience of a single "shoot" for all ice and water... I believe many consumers aren't doing their part. We must hold our glass properly. Do so, and you will be as happy as our family is. And we do not have a towel on the floor. I also highly recommend the 5yr plan from H.D. Ask anyone who has recently had repairs done on their refidgerator what they paid in parts/labor. Then do the math. Enjoy the Adora December 17, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This fridge is great! We replaced our old fridge with this GE Adora in the shiny black finish. We love the fridge. The lighting is nice, the shelves and drawers are good. The drawers aren't the greatest when opening and closing. You almost have to jiggle them around to stay on the tracks. It is not a smooth open by any means, but that was not an issue to us. The finish is very hard to keep looking nice. We were told by the delivery person to not use anything except a soft cloth to wipe the exterior (and soapy water only), as the finish scratched very easily. It is as bad as stainless with finger prints and such. It that is not a problem for you, great! It is very quiet and seems very efficient. The ice maker seems to struggle to keep up with us, but my family loves ice. July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Fridge with some flaws I have had this refridgerator for 15 months now. It does everything it is supposed to do well - cooling, ice dispensing, water, filtration. The flaws in our fridge are first the dimensions are not completely accurate. We went to push the refridgerator into the spot and determined that while the dimensions at the front and back met the specs, the dimension in the middle was slightly larger, thus it was slightly too large for our space. This could be true for other brands, but our old Amana did not have this problem. The other flaw with our fridge is that the handles are slightly loose, and you need a special tool to tighten them. The handle has not gotten noticeably looser over the past year, so perhaps the fit is just not that great. The ice dispenser can be a little loud, but I wouldn't say that is a real worry unless you need your kitchen to be really quiet. February 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Refrigerator good, Freezer good, Icemaker broken Refrigerator purchased 2/24/12. Works great except we are already on schedule to get our 3rd ice-maker installed this coming Saturday. The first two tend to freeze over, thus causing the arms that would push the ice into the bucket not to be able to do so. The constant pushing against the ice then burns up the motor. Since the same thing happened to each of the first two units, I suspect that this is a fundamental flaw with this product. I'm about ready to tell Home Depot to bring me a different refrigerator in its place. May 7, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I love the fridge I had similar ge fridge for past 15 years. I was affraid the old one would die on me at some point. I love the led lights and the door alarm- it helps when kids open fridge. The fridge was freezing/cooling within a few hrs of instollment. The only con I see is the finish, high gloss black, not very kids-friendly. You can see their little finger prints every time their touch the door. July 30, 2013
