We purchased this washer based on the GE name and appearance. I wish we would have read the reviews first. We have owned other brand names, (less expensive) and they have lasted upwards of 9 to 20 years. This washer started giving us problems from the beginning. We are really lucky we purchased the extended warranty. Close to $4,000.00 in repairs and another on coming. Three drums and now the control panel is out. The warranty company has been very good to us and has covered all the repairs. We are a family of four and our laundry loads are small to medium. Repair tech indicated the bearings are the problem on this model. I feel sorry for anyone who does not have the extended warranty on this washer. We are hoping Home Depot will work with us to take it back.

We bought a GE Adora high-efficiency front load washer about 3 years ago. Model WHDVH626FWW
It takes forever (over an hour) to wash a load of clothes.
When you look in the stainless steel drum, you see three sections. This is where the spider component attaches to the stainless steel drum. Our spider component has completely corroded and the drum fell off the motor attachment.
The part is the basket - $442.75 at parts. For a $1200 machine i would have expected it to last longer than 3 years. My last washer lasted over nine.
Last time I buy a GE appliance new...

First it started eating my children's socks. Then it started backing up with water and not draining. Figured out it requires having a drain on the bottom cleaned out...that's where the chewed up and destroyed socks were hiding. Every other month we need to clean out this drain or the water backs up and access to do that is a real pain. Now its started destroying our cloths by putting huge holes in them. Seriously how can this thing be making fist size holes in jeans? It put a hole in my sons favorite shirt, my jeans, demolished socks and more. The timer is off so when it says you have 5 minutes left its more like 30 minutes and it gives off this annoying high pitched noise when you start the wash. The little button that tells it the door is closed broke off and we had to super glue repeatedly. Now the button is permanently stuck in so you have to unplug the washer to reset it for use. There seems like some place there is leaking as the tray at the bottom of the inside is always wet and now I can see rust starting to form at the bottom front. We have had this washer for 6 years so its not exactly new but a washer should last a long long time and not be such a headache. I would not recommend this washer to anyone! GE normally has good products but this one is a lemon. Don't buy it!

Puts holes in all my clothing..cousin has the same model and does the same to her clothes. She's been spending hundreds on exterminator thinking it was hiden moths or bugs in basement. I've called the company , they give out the old talking points of are you overloading, unbalanced loads etc. in other words I don't know how to wash clothes. Repairmen comes plays with dials and says no problem..leaves I have holes in my clothes..

I purchased this on super sale so it was a few hundred cheaper than the online price, I have Model # GHWS3605FRR. I will say it has been a great washer. As far as it taking forever to wash loads...yes it's true, but all HE front load washers are the same on this. The longer wash time is due to the usage of less water. There is a "speed wash" cycle for smaller loads that takes about 30min, for those families with kids in sports that need to get uniforms washed quickly. The steam cycles do take longer, especially the Sanitize cycle which takes about 2 hrs, but again all HE washer are comparable on this. Make sure you do use HE detergent as these are designed to not produced suds. Suds will prevent your clothes from washing correctly and possible corroding parts of the washer that were not designed to handle suds. Remember when draining, the soapy residue may stick to the plumbing and damage it as it was not designed to handle non HE detergent.
It cleans well and it is SUPER quiet!!!

Purchased this washer, and it worked well enough for our family of 8. Until it started making this awful banging during the spin cycle. I was finding pieces of lint and plastic everywhere, then it started to pause randomly and leak water from the bottom. We have had this machine for a little over a year. We were told it was a defect and are still waiting a decision on repair or replace.

Loved it, until I found it the soap dispenser drawer was leaking and dripping on our hardwood floors. This was only after 2-3 weeks of use.
