Customer Questions & Answers

cycle times

Any one know the cycle times?
Asked by: curious
Hello Generally the most common cycle you will use will take about 1hr 9 minutes. Which is typical of High Efficiency washers. There is a "Speed Wash" cycle for small, light loads which is as quick as 30 minutes. I believe the longest cycle is the Sanitize cycle which is about 2 hours. Keep in mind settings such as soil level, spin options, and rinse options, will affect your wash times. The longer wash times is because the machine isn't using as much water to clean and rinse the clothes.

Why are some washing machines listed with DOE cubic feet and some not? What's the difference?

Asked by: Anonymous
DOE (Department of Energy) will measure and report on sizes. The company selling the machine may or may not list that measurement depending on their marketing of that machine. A front load machine may have the same basket size as a top load but due to the agitator may have a smaller measurement since the agitator takes up space. Personally I have found the top load machines to work better and my wife prefers them to the front load - we have had both.

WHY DOES IT DISPENSE VERY LITTLE WATER AND WHEN IT DISPENSES THE DETERGENT THE CLOTHE ARE HALF DRY AND HALF WET???/

In my opinion, it doesn't seem to wash clothes properly, due to very little water it dispenses. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?? I just think it takes toooo long to wash clothes compared to the old models and this one is suppose to be top of the line washers???
Asked by: MARTY
Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. This is a nice washer and I am sorry it is not working well for you. It is an energy efficient model so it will use less water. If the clothes are not coming clean; however, then we recommend contacting the GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Can the washers door be reversed?

I see that I can change the hinge side of the dryer door, but I can't tell if that is possible for the washer.
Asked by: pgiering
Hello, This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to help. GE front-load washers, including this model GHWS3605FRR, have the hinge on the left side of the door and open to the left only. They do not have reversible doors because of the electronics involved with the door lock mechanism. Thank you for checking.

GE does the worst washing machines, I would say do not buy this or any of theirs. We have problems from the begining, it broke we were told they will solve the issue, GE itself, 3 different technichians later it was solved and I was told it will be replaced if it broked again. guess what it did, but now GE is not replacing it because is on extended warranty and I have to live with this good looking piece of metal and call the extended warranty company and go to the laundry mat while they take their sweet time solving the issue. I think I will go to SEARS and buy a new one different brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hasn't ruined our clothes I purchased this on super sale so it was a few hundred cheaper than the online price, I have Model # GHWS3605FRR. I will say it has been a great washer. As far as it taking forever to wash loads...yes it's true, but all HE front load washers are the same on this. The longer wash time is due to the usage of less water. There is a "speed wash" cycle for smaller loads that takes about 30min, for those families with kids in sports that need to get uniforms washed quickly. The steam cycles do take longer, especially the Sanitize cycle which takes about 2 hrs, but again all HE washer are comparable on this. Make sure you do use HE detergent as these are designed to not produced suds. Suds will prevent your clothes from washing correctly and possible corroding parts of the washer that were not designed to handle suds. Remember when draining, the soapy residue may stick to the plumbing and damage it as it was not designed to handle non HE detergent. It cleans well and it is SUPER quiet!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ADORA WHDVH626FWW We bought a GE Adora high-efficiency front load washer about 3 years ago. Model WHDVH626FWW It takes forever (over an hour) to wash a load of clothes. When you look in the stainless steel drum, you see three sections. This is where the spider component attaches to the stainless steel drum. Our spider component has completely corroded and the drum fell off the motor attachment. The part is the basket - $442.75 at parts. For a $1200 machine i would have expected it to last longer than 3 years. My last washer lasted over nine. Last time I buy a GE appliance new...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the steam. I know we have only washed 2 loads in the washer/dryer set but so far this washer has exceeded our expectations. My meter isnt going 9000mph and the steam feature works well at removing stains. We took the kids soccer clothes (completely grass stained) and threw them in. Used steam and the "grass" button. They came out of the washer with no stains on them. Now to find all my stained clothes and try the steam option....

I am happy with my purchase. If you buy obe, measure it first. I didnt and is a little to big but. Its ok with me... i fold the cloth on top.
