CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Newer isn't always better! If it is a new installation it would be OK. However I was replacing a older fixture. This version does not have large knockouts on each end of the fixture. For me that was a problem because the wiring came out of the wall on the opposite side of where the large knockout was. This meant I had to splice wires and then try to stuff all the wire and wire nuts into the small space provided. It was not an easy job! December 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fluorescent light I installed this light in my work trailer so I could find things in the dark. It works great. I may install a second light at the back of my trailer to give me more light at that end of the trailer December 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Too many screws Too many screws to open the wiring section. Two very small phillips screws near each end. And two nuts on the wiring cover lip spaced at thirds, that requires a hollow nut driver or deep socket. Unit has an lightweight electronic ballast. But there is very little space inside the wiring cover to tuck in the wire slack from the wall. This was replacing a similar unit by Lithonia that had gone bad. It was under a cabinet in back of the kitchen sink, so it was a very difficult lean in. Trying to hold the wiring cover in place and get those four screws started was a major pain. Hard to hold close because wiring compartment was so tight. The light works ok, but a very poor design for installing. August 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 This light lights! I've used these in my kitchen - under each cabinet (6 ea.) and they really flood the counter well and last a long, long time! They get about 6 hours of use a day and the last set lasted 8 years! Well worth the money and easy to operate/integrate into a well worked kitchen! January 27, 2009
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wire access knockouts not centrally located. Too many screws, and tighly installed Was replacing a small fluorescent in my clothes closet. The light was on a vertical end wall wired to a box. (Replacing that one because it has a magnetic starter and took a long time to come on.) Unfortunately, this particular model does not have a center knockout for the wires to connect. There are two knockout options, each close to the holes for mounting the fixture. There was no way to install this on a box in a wall. The two extra small screws to open the fixture to access the wires were very difficult to loosen, and I almost stripped one, they were screwed in so tightly. When I reassembled it to return it, it was hard to line up these screws with the receiving holes. If I had tried to assemble it after wiring it, those tiny screws would be very easy to drop and never find again. Feeling very frustrated, because sent my husband off to return a slightly different GE model, same length, more slender bulb, but I could not get it to come on after I installed it. I've installed a lot of lights over the years, and taken a course in home wiring, so knew how to check my work. At least that 18" model had a center knock out. Sadly, my husband didn't get the message that there were multiple 18" models and didn't open the box to check for knockout location. August 25, 2014
