Product Overview

  • 100% Waterproof
  • Never cracks, shrinks, breaks down, washes away
  • Weatherproof - sun-proof, freeze-proof, flexible
GE Silicone I All Purpose 100% silicone caulk can withstand all weather conditions, and will remain permanently waterproof, flexible, and shrink-/crack-proof. Outdoor elements such as heat, sun (UV rays), and extreme cold can cause acrylic caulking to crack and crumble over time, leaving gaps for air and water to seep through. Those leaks can lead to water damage, mold growth, and higher energy bills. 100% Silicone sealant is widely considered to be the best caulk for sealing areas that will be exposed to water.

I am looking for a caulk that will be easily removed after winter is over would this product fit that description?

I am looking for a caulking compound that will seal my doors, windows and other areas where the wind could come in in my 1875 house. I would like to be able to seal around the windows for the winter but be able to remove the caulking in the spring.
Asked by: xrayhiker
Thank you for your question.  Cured Silicone I All Purpose will typically need to be cut, scraped or chipped away using a utility knife, putty knife or painter's multi-tool. Good luck on your project.

All Purpose Silicone I 10.1 oz. Clear Window and Door Caulk is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 12.

Have purchased three tubes recently, all at different times, with different in date expirations. My complaint is that the internal plunger in the tube gets stuck; not a clogging problem in the tip. Works fine first time, regardless of amount used. After that, with proper nozzle sealing, internal plunger seems stuck, will not budge or leaks sealant around its edges. Have to throw away almost full tubes. I will not use GE silicone caulk again. Waste of time and money. The sealant may be acceptable. The delivery system isn't.

I applied the silicone sealant 4 days ago and so far it has not set up at all! Not even a skin on it. The calls I made to phone number on tube for assistance - no answer. Now I have to remove all of this faulty material and redo with another product (it won't be from GE).

I needed something to fill in some holes in an old tin roof that lost some nails over the years. I did some research and decided to give the GE Silicone Caulk a try. The caulk set up within the time limit stated in the directions and after several weeks the holes are still covered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Has mold inhibitor, but doesn't state so on the label I was looking for 100% silicone with no additives whatsoever. After calling the help number on the tube, customer service informed me that there is indeed a mold inhibitor in this formula although it doesn't state so anywhere on the label.
