We like everything about this refrigerator except...the compressor started getting louder after about a month. They sent me a insulated cover to quiet the sound but this didn't fix the reason it was making noise. And the ice dispenser clogs with ice chips till it plugs up the entire chute. This ice melts and drips down the front of the fridge and stains the stainless steel if you don't keep it constantly dry. GE says that is normal and that all these do it and so it is more of a feature than an issue. THis would be a great fridge if they would fix this issue, but they wont.

If you are looking for a refrigerator which is quiet and can supply more than two people with a supply of ice for the day then look further. This refrigerator is in such need of a second ice maker that it really should not be considered to be a fully functional family refrigerator. The ice shute continuously clogs and the refrigerator sounds like a small jet powering up for a short field take off. Look for another refrigerator if you plan on having more than one glass of ice water a day or if you entertain.

We purchased this beautiful refridgerator. After having and old side by side Kenmore(that was working fine for 25 years by the way), we wanted to upgrade our kitchen and we purchased the entire suite. Our first hint should have been when the sales person suggest we get the extended warranty for the fridge if nothing else. Well of course we did, but never would I think that the we would be calling for service within 90days of the purchase of the fridge. Well the fridge was making a lot of noise, it was hard to keep a good supply of ice (we had to purchase ice trays might I add), but the kicker is when I notice my food had mold in closed contatiners stored on the top shelf. Soon after realizing that my food were not even considered a cold temperature. The service tech came out and said the fan is busted, because it was iced over. Well since its less than 90 days let's replace it after all I did by a 5year warrant?. No GE's policy is they must come and repair at least 3 times. But its a new fridge its defected!! Needless to say I as a consumer have no option but be stuck with a defective fridge that even Home depot wont exchange because its past 30 days. Hoping to get this resolved in my favor at some point I hate writing bad review but buyers beware.

This was a replacement for a previous GE CafÃ© model that was also defective. The computer board was not functioning after approximately 4 months. It has been a week and the part is still not available. GE is supposed to replace this, but it will probably be another week. So 2+ weeks without a refrigerator, and we will be on the 3rd GE model in 3 years. Terrible quality. Good thing we bought the extended warranty. PS, we oeiginally bough the GE CafÃ© French Door Refrigerator because we liked the look, but I would rather have something reliable than this piece.

I purchased the refrigerator a year ago. I love the appearance of the refrigerator. I love being able to view my fruits and vegetables without opening the drawers. The freezer is very spacious. After a year I have not used the hot water feature, it just seems easier to use the microwave.
