Product Overview

The weather-resistant GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Motion Sensor detects movement within a 110-degree area from up to 40 feet away. Great for monitoring activity in and around your home, such as in the garage, backyard, hallways, shed, living room or entry area. The motion sensor is easy to install anywhere. The versatile GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Motion Sensor can be installed anywhere, inside or out. Its weather-resistant design allows the sensor to function in most climate conditions, and its ball-joint head swivels to allow maximum coverage. The motion sensor can be mounted up to 150 feet away from the Wireless Control Center (not included). It needs no wiring or electricity for operation, running off a single nine-volt battery (not included). The Choice Alert Motion Sensor works with any of the Wireless Control Center's four zones. When the Motion Sensor is paired with Zones One, Two, or Three, the Wireless Control Center will emit a loud alarm that lets you know motion has been detected in 'Away' mode only. The Motion Sensor will not activate an alarm in 'Home' mode, so you can move freely around the house when the system is armed. Alternatively, when the motion sensor is paired with Zone Four (the dedicated alert zone) on the Wireless Control Center, a continuous alert will notify you of motion in a specific area.

Customer Questions & Answers

Can more than one motion sensor trigger one control center?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. From the control center manual, it seems that each zone will accommodate up to 4 sensors (of any type), and there are 3 zones. Therefore, you could possibly have 12 sensors to trigger the control center. The 4th zone is for special sensors, like a water leak sensor, so that zone doesn't "alarm" like the first 3. Hope this helps...

How can I de-activate the motion sensor?

The alarm system keeps saying low battery in sensor. I have changed the batteries 3 times in 6 days. I never had to change the batteries or had a problem with the sensor for 3 years, and now this problem every couple of days. As I don't really need the sensor, I would like to just do away wit it.
Asked by: BobB
When the zone light blinks it just means that for whatever reason the control center was not able to communicate with sensor. This can be because of low batteries, interference, or distance. Since everything has worked for three years without issue then we know it’s not because of distance. If you have changed the batteries three times already then more than likely it’s not the batteries. So that leaves interference which might be causing the problem. If you no longer want the sensor to be on the control center then you will need to delete it off. To delete the sensor you will press and hold the learn button on the side of the control center and right after pressing the learn button you will need to press the zone button that you want to erase the sensor from. Hold both buttons for at least five seconds until you hear a double beep and then let go. This will erase the zone and every sensor that is on that zone. Customer Reviews

Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Motion Sensor is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised I was very leery of this product when I read the review that said it wouldn't get a signal at 50 ft. However, I loved the idea of a wireless alarm system, so I bought this and the control center. After installing and testing this motion sensor throughout my 3 story home, it worked exactly as advertised. I saw no issue with the sensor detecting my presence, and no issue in the alarm going off from the farthest points in my home. The sensor did not detect my cat running by it, but did detect my wife and I, no matter how stealthily (is that a word?) we tried to sneak by. It looks like the motion sensor will be a bit of a battery hog, since it is constantly scanning for motion. Each sensor requires a 9v battery at least every 9 months. If the battery is low, then that will effect the signal, so I'll be sure to change the batteries regularly. To me that's a small price to pay for home security. I am glad to have the ease of use and flexibility of this system, so I recommend it for those that would like something less than a full blown in-home system. Hope this information was helpful to you...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3yrs and counting... purchasing more now I've used these sensors for 3 years now and I have yet to find a better and more affordable option for what I want. I do not use these or this system as a alarm system. I use these as a driveway alert. I have had issues in the past with my items stolen from my vehicles and same for neighbors. Several neighbors got motion lights that only helped the theives better see exactly what they needed to steal. I wanted something simple and inexpensive that would notify me. Ive caught two burglars and 4 pranksters that all needed to use the toilet paper they brought with them to clean out their pants. The sensors work indoors and out. I did have to put a signal relay so all 3 of my sensors signal would reach the monitor ($10) but no problem. I just had one sensor finally go bad so I'm buying more. FYI...system can only support 4 motion sensors. I always know if someone is on my property whether a burglar or girl scout and I sleep better for that. Once adjusted I may get 1 false alarm a month from a neighborhood cat but his days are numbered too. only maintenace is to change 9V battery once every 6 months. Good, simple, economical product. Thanks GE
