Product Overview

The GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Water Leak Sensor warns you of leaks or possible flooding that can lead to costly water damage. You can use this sensor to monitor areas of your home where there's a risk of water leaks, such as near washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioners, hot water tanks, plumbing lines, and more. The compact sensor runs off a single lithium battery that can power the sensor for up to 24 months. The sensor will instantly detect water leaks with its probe, and it will report information back to the Choice Alert Wireless Control Center (sold separately) from up to 150 ft. away. Determining a potential water leak before it causes costly damage is what makes the water leak sensor such a sensible and cost-effective component to add to your Choice Alert Security System. Install the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Water Leak Sensor anywhere that has the potential for water leaks, such as near a dishwasher, under the sink, by the water heater, or any other area that is at risk of water damage. Installation couldn't be easier; simply mount the sensor with the probe pointed down using either screws or double-sided tape (both included), and it will detect water accumulating in that area. Like all Choice Alert sensors, the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Water Leak Sensor is wireless and will only function with the Choice Alert Wireless Control Center (sold separately).

  • Avoid costly water damage and possible flooding with an effective, cost-efficient water leak sensor
  • Perfect for laundry rooms, bathrooms, under cabinet plumbing, hot water tanks and air conditioners

Customer Questions & Answers

what is the power source for this unit?

Asked by: Buck
Hi Buck, Thank you for your question. According to the MFG, The 45133 water leak sensor is powered by one (1) CR2032 lithium battery. Hope this helps.

Is the alarm remote from the sensor and if so how far can if be located from the sensor?

I am interested in a product that allows for a remote alarm so that I am sure to hear the alarm if water is sensed in our crawlspace.

Hi Rolly, this is not a remote alarm. This product works with the use of the choice alert model 45142. You put the leads on the 2 prongs and place under the water heater plate. The choice alert base can be placed up to 150 feet line of sight. This distance will be less with walls in the house. 40-50 feet is good.

HiFolks, I recently purchased a ge model #45133 water leak sensor. I thought that it would be an independent sensor for a single location in my home.

it appears that i will now need a control center , this is not what i wanted as i hope to only need one water sensor. so what [politely ] would you suggest i do .

391153 Status: Approved Hey Pete, This is Gregg from the How-To Community, The control center is wireless and can be place in a convenient location in your home. The water leak sensor can be placed under a sink, in the basement, or garage and it will send a signal to the control center if there is water leaking. You can use just one water leak sensor, but no matter what you need the control center. I would get the control center and use the water leak sensor. It works well and will protect your home. Here is the control center you need: Gregg

Customer Reviews

Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System Water Leak Sensor is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from an inexpensive item that could potentially save big $$$$$ A nice (extra) feature to add to the GE Choice Alert wire- less alarm kit for added piece of mind. I had come VERY close to an overflow in the A/C condensate pan in the attic & would have been made aware LONG before, if I had it.
