Rated 5 out of 5Â by CallMeMike Easy Install and looks good with older GE Profile components
I had to replace a ten year-old GE Profile microwave with a new model. A new stainless steel trim kit was required as the microwave dimensions had changed. The trim kit was easy to install. The directions are clear and you should follow them. The fit tolerances are precise and care should be taken when drilling the holes. This microwave and trim looks good next to the ten year-old stainless steel GE Profile installed wall oven - the styles are compatible. I prefer this trim kit streamlined look to the older model which it replaced, and I think the installation method is improved over the old model..

Rated 1 out of 5Â by angryocto Poor instructions, bad fit, questionable quality
This thing is just a piece of stainless steel looking plastic.
I installed it over my GE countertop microwave (PEB7226SFSS). The instructions seemed like it was for some other microwave - only two of the screwholes matched up (there were no other screwholes in the microwave!) so I had to duct tape the microwave to the base for stability... That should be your first warning.
The instructions also should have specified to fit the top rack on the microwave before screwing anything in. Otherwise, you risk the top rack not fitting in the cutout.
Finally, the flat head screws to affix the trim to the rack don't really fit nicely, so they end up looking somewhat askew. You could say this is user error, but considering someone else had this issue too, i'm inclined to say it's just poor design.
Avoid if you can, but we're likely going to keep it so that it will match our GE oven.
All-in-all, it looks pretty average, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Easy to assemble. However, pricey for piece of decorative steel.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Yoster A good idea, poorly executed
The big ugly flat head screws that attach the face plate to the microwave don't screw in flush and look terrible. Tightening them down to fix this problem permanently distorts the smooth stainless surface. Ugh!
What appears to be a cutout template really isn't one and if used for this purpose will result in oversized hole. No dimensions given to judge how high up the mounting bracket will position the microwave. Trial and error required.

Trim kit looks good and was easy to install. It only took about an hour to remove the old microwave and install the new one.
