I had my GE GXSV65R installed 9/2012 and it has worked well. I only replace the filters after 12 months without any noticeable diminishedment in water quality. I live in the Phoenix area where we have high calcium content in the water and this filter system has handled it well. I will be making my 4th filter replacement in 6 weeks (Sept.). I guess as long and the filters are still made to spec, I expect it to continue working. It's lasted 4 years so far and that is more that I could expect ANY filtration system to work with the extremely hard water in this area.

This is a replacement of the same basic water filter bought late 2011. More cost effective to replace entire system than to replace just the manifold. I love how our water tastes!

because i have shutters on my kitchen window, the height to the faucet was too high.
If there was an underwater filter system with a faucet under 8 inches I would purchase. It would be nice if they also had stainless steel or brushed nickel.

The water quality is great and I've been a very satisfied owner of this unit for about three years... until today when I changed the filters. I went from a working unit with old filters to a broken one with new filters. Same issue as mentioned below... the plastic protrusion for the valve wears down so the ramps on the filter can no longer open the valve, rendering the entire unit junk. To add insult to injury, two calls to GE support were met with "We are not aware of any issues" and "I guess you'll just have to buy a new one". Unacceptable. I will not be replacing this with another GE product.

I have bought three of these products, all end with the same problem. about a year after use the line in the chassis gets clogged or the pin on filter cartridge doesn't push the lever up enough.

At first I thought the value was great and this would be a great product. I figured the light would remind me when to change the filter. No light has came on. I realized after 3-4 months the water was barely coming out of the water faucet. Even slower after another month, now it trickles out. I had to go back to find my purchase paper work to remember when I installed it since I do not have indicator light. I will not bother to replace filters, New system!!!!!

We've had this filtration system for several years until it developed a nonfunctioning shutoff valve. So we replaced it with an exactly similar system. We are always pleased with the water quality delivered by this system and with the ease of replacing the filters. The only downside is the fact that one cannot purchase this filtration system any longer in a Home Depot store; it is only available online. Perhaps this is a signal that Home Depot expects to discontinue this product? It would be unfortunate if this were the case.
