Answer:
Really? Take the battery out and toss it in the garbage can. Take a marker and write the date on the replacement filter as to when it was installed, check it in a year and replace the filters again, repeat the marking process.
Works for me.

Answer:
Everytime you replace the filters you need to replace the battery or at least remove the battery from its compartment and re-insert it, that resets to the timer.

You need to replace the battery too, this resets the timer, or you can take the batter out, and put it back in. I'm not sure how long the battery will last though.

Answer:
The light is in no way attached to the filter. It's just a timer. Pull out the light, take out the battery to reset the timer and replace. In 6 months the light will start blinking again. Or you can just write the date of replacement on the filters and do it then and not waste cash on batteries for a lame timer.
There are additional details on how to reset the timer in the manual.

Answer:
No it is not recommended to retrofit this to your main faucet as the flow rate is much different, If you know what you're doing you could possibly rig it up with some adapters, I wouldn't recommend it though.

I don't think so but the unit comes with a faucet. Just make sure that you have the extra hole in your sink for it.

Answer:
Yes. If you existing faucet has a 1/4" input this unit can be directly connected. If you existing faucet has a larger input you will have to purchase a conversion value to connect this unit's 1/4" hose to the existing larger hose connected to the input of your existing faucet. If you do this, the water flow will be slower, but it works.

Answer:
Filters should last 6 months depending on usage, We use ours everyday even for cooking and it lasts 6 months. There are 2 in my household as well as the cats who drink this water too. There is a light that comes on when you need to change filters, just remember to reset the timer when you replace by removing the battery from the compartment and re-insert or replace it. This starts the countdown again.

It says to replace filters every 6 months or 160 gallons of water whichever comes first. Of course if your water is hard then you need to replace them more often.

Hello Art,
This is Donna with GE and I will be happy to assist you with your question on the GE Dual-Stage Water Filtration System model GXSV65R.
The replacement filter part number FQSVF. Replace the filters after six months of usage has occurred. This is the maximum life of the filter canisters. Replace both filter canisters and battery in the faucet base.
I hope this helps.

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 79 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GE water filter I had my GE GXSV65R installed 9/2012 and it has worked well. I only replace the filters after 12 months without any noticeable diminishedment in water quality. I live in the Phoenix area where we have high calcium content in the water and this filter system has handled it well. I will be making my 4th filter replacement in 6 weeks (Sept.). I guess as long and the filters are still made to spec, I expect it to continue working. It's lasted 4 years so far and that is more that I could expect ANY filtration system to work with the extremely hard water in this area. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install,Nice flow rate So much easier to install the the older version. Reading the other installation help tips in reviews really helped August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement Water Filtee This is a replacement of the same basic water filter bought late 2011. More cost effective to replace entire system than to replace just the manifold. I love how our water tastes! July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by faucet too high so returned because i have shutters on my kitchen window, the height to the faucet was too high. If there was an underwater filter system with a faucet under 8 inches I would purchase. It would be nice if they also had stainless steel or brushed nickel. June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good price and easy to install The instruction were easy to follow and the installation went smoothly. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy if you expect it to last more than 3 years! The water quality is great and I've been a very satisfied owner of this unit for about three years... until today when I changed the filters. I went from a working unit with old filters to a broken one with new filters. Same issue as mentioned below... the plastic protrusion for the valve wears down so the ramps on the filter can no longer open the valve, rendering the entire unit junk. To add insult to injury, two calls to GE support were met with "We are not aware of any issues" and "I guess you'll just have to buy a new one". Unacceptable. I will not be replacing this with another GE product. August 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Chassis get clogged I have bought three of these products, all end with the same problem. about a year after use the line in the chassis gets clogged or the pin on filter cartridge doesn't push the lever up enough. February 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy with product, indicator light did not work At first I thought the value was great and this would be a great product. I figured the light would remind me when to change the filter. No light has came on. I realized after 3-4 months the water was barely coming out of the water faucet. Even slower after another month, now it trickles out. I had to go back to find my purchase paper work to remember when I installed it since I do not have indicator light. I will not bother to replace filters, New system!!!!! January 12, 2016
