Answer:
No, they are not designed with that option out of the box. You would have to jury-rig a solution with outside parts to effect something like that.

Hello,
I know your question is from last holiday season, but in case you get email updates, these 100ct LED strings are back in stock online. I also bought two strings last year and am looking to pick up a few more this year!

Why are the multi-color lights advertised as warm glow like the old incandescent?

I have always used incandescent color lights for my Christmas tree. I have tried various brands of LED lights but was always disappointed at how bright and cool they look - actually giving the room a blue artificial glow. This year I tried these and am very disappointed. They are no different than all the other LED lights on the market and they look nothing like the old fashioned incandescent. How is 'warm glow' defined with LED lights. Does HD sell any other LED color lights that may have a softer lighting?

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The purple was overwhelming but fixable We hung five multi-color strands in our tree and the entire room glowed neon-like purple. It was harsh, lacking the warmth we were after. We bought another strand of soft white and swapped out the purple bulbs. The tree now looks awesome! Plus we have a pure strand of purple for Halloween. November 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quality lights but they 'do' look like LED bulbs I bought these lights due to the reviews here which claim they look just like incandescents instead of typical led lights. I tried them tonight outside and they look just like all the other led lights around the neighborhood. They're brighter than traditional lights (to the point you almost can't look directly at the bulbs up close) and have a cartoonish coloring to them. In addition to that the blue and purple bulbs are really hard for the eyes to focus on. I actually read somewhere once the suggestion that 'you're not supposed to look directly at the led lights if they bother you'.. huh? can you imagine driving around looking at Christmas lights and not look directly at them? but it's what i have to do the more these things pop up around town (until they perfect the technology).. So i'm a bit frustrated as I trusted the other reviewers here and hoped I had found a replacement for traditional lights on my palm tree. But these lights will take away from the rest of my display as they're hard to focus on and contrast the soft warm glow of the rest of my lights. So back they go to be replaced with the GE Pro-Line Commercial grade incandescent set. These led lights are good for what they are and are of good quality construction but they 'do' look like led lights.. not the 'warm traditional glow of incandescents' the box claims.. but if true led lights are your thing these are your lights.. the quality is there for sure.. but they hurt my eyes and the coloring isn't what I was looking for, which is the soft, non-electrical looking glow. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Still not the same as the old Incandescent lights The lights are good quality and all worked well with no problems. I had read an article that they were the most like the old incandescent lights. Not true. They still are not bright and have the eerie quality of LEDs. I would recommend them if you want LEDs. I don't know if the higher price of GE is worth it. I am also not a fan of the non-traditional purple color included. December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's Time to Go LED Excellent color with warmth of incandescent; no heat and energy star rated December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far, so good I made the switch this year from incandescent to LED for lights on my tree. I was not too thrilled about the cost of the LED, but that was about the only drawback. The LED are definitely brighter; not quite as soft as the incandescent, but really not as bad as some people have made them out to be. The pros, for me, definitely outweighed the cost. LED are more energy efficient and last longer, so the hope is that eventually you'll make up the extra paid with lower electric bills and buying sets less often. I also love the fact that you can put a bunch of sets together without worrying about blowing a fuse. I don't have to use a power strip or extension cord anymore. I am sure not all brands are created equal, but this particular product has been great for me this year. December 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The 21st Century Solution A few years back we decided that switching to LED lights for the Christmas tree was the only responsible option. They're easy on the Earth, and don't require any fussy maintenance like aging strings of old-fashioned lights. But boy, the LEDs just didn't look as good. Flat, bland and kind of soulless. But it doesn't have to be that way! These GE Colorite lights have nearly the same, graduated, twinkly-sort of warmth that the old, energy-wasting incandescents do. Whoever invented these has done a great public service. Thank you! January 6, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by led lights The lights do not seen like traditional colors. Plus there were too many blues. We prefer softer lighting with more reds and greens with a hint of blue. Plus the lights were too bright and do not work with the plug in light show that we currently had. December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Lights We love these light because they don't 'flicker' like some other LED lights do. I do wish they would have added orange to the color mix (colors included are Green, Purple, Blue, Red and Yellow) - our tree is a little dark color heavy, but they are still very nice. The strand of 100 was a good value too - we were only finding 50 and 60 count strings and didn't like the idea of linking that many together. They are very bright - I almost wish I could dim them, but my Christmas tree is beautiful and I'm very happy we got these lights. December 11, 2013
