Rinse only?

With our current machine we just run a rinse cycle 'til we have enough dishes to run a full wash cycle. This keeps the food from hardening on the dishes, while conserving water.

Is this possible with this machine?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 510 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GE does not stand behind manufacuring defect After the bisque door panel rusts through after 3.5 years because it is painted on metal not designed to be around a steam port you will get this kind of response from GE dont purchase planned obselesence.... " You have had the use of your dishwasher for nearly 4 years, and this is a cosmetic issue. It is in consideration for the service that this appliance did provide that you are expected to contribute the majority cost of the parts and labor needed. The first part offer was the normal discount for the age of your dishwasher, On the second discount, I lowered it to help you out. I can appreciate that my offer is not ideal for you but please know that this is being offered as an equitable solution to our valued customers like you. I respect your decision to decline the offer. At this time, it is what is available based on the age of the dishwasher. Offers good for 7 days, and only through GE Appliances and this case." February 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked - poorly - for 1 year I have hated this dishwasher every day for 1 year plus 103 days. Today, it stopped draining. When I went to Repair Clinic to order the $140 pump, it was out of stock. I wonder why? Maybe because there are a lot of broken pumps with this dishwasher. It won't be back in stock till February. I won't miss not having the use of this dishwasher though since it's really just a giant dish sanitizer. I have to wash the dishes before I put them in it anyway, since it sure doesn't clean them. Then, because it doesn't dry them either, I have to open the door and put a fan on it just to dry the dishes. Also, so much steam escapes from the vent that it drips onto the floor. I can't say enough bad things about this dishwasher. HATE IT!!!! January 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LC - Problem Right Away We bought this dishwasher in the spring of 2014 and it has only been used for 7 months in that time. The door pops back open when you try to close it. It does it even when the silverware racks are not in place. The dishwasher is level and no obstructions are blocking the door. I ordered a new latch in case the original latch was defective. With the new latch installed, it does exactly the same thing. If you can get the door to latch, it usually will run the whole cycle. I pulled it back out and tried to latch the door with it sitting in the middle of the room. It still pops open. The models in the store did not pop open when the door is closed. I also changed the position of the door springs and that made no difference. At this point I am missing the old lever design that positively locked the door. When you can get it to work, it does a nice job on the dishes and is very quiet but, based on the latching problem, I do not recommend this dishwasher.. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase! The removal of the old dishwasher, installation of the new one and removing the old went without a hitch, they did a great job! February 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Features, but! Bought this GE, along with the install kit, as a replacement. So it should have been easy. I knew to save the old wire. The new water and drain lines were plenty long enough, however the rubber fitting to the sink drain, while adjustable from 1" down to 5/8", the clamp provided does not get small enough to tighten onto a 5/8" tee. But the bigger issue is the leveling/stabilizing brackets. With a granite countertop, the brackets must be side mounted. In this situation the brackets are 2.75" inboard from the front of the machine. Hence, instead of fastening to the hardwood cabinet front the screws go into and through the soft, thin, particle board side panel. And in my case, on the right side a 3/32" fiberboard that wraps a Lazy Susan. I have had to reinforce the fiberboard, in hopes that it will keep the machine from moving every time the door is opened/closed. Not to mention, the side mounted brackets, require a blind access, to find the screw hole in the bracket, and the screws provided are too short to reach the cabinet side panel (which is offset 3/8" from the side of the cabinet front panel). This is a design error in so many ways. Only time will tell whether my cabinet modifications will be effective. Note that this is my fifth dishwasher self-installation. The basics were done in just over an hour, but I spent 2.5 hours addressing the bracket issue. Hiring the professional installers would not have changed the facts. This dishwasher (with kit) cannot be properly installed (stabilized), if you have a hard countertop. The side mounted brackets cannot be firmly fastened to the side panels of base cabinets. Another minor issue is that white close out trim strips were supplied with a bisque dishwasher, and then they only extend to the bottom of the tub, leaving dark gaps on the bottom six inches of the machine. This review was posted on the GE site, the day after installation. Since then, my cabinet modifications have proven adequate (no movement). As far as the performance (Normal cycle), we are pleased to have clean dishes, even though as some have mentioned, the silverware often stays wet. But we are really impressed with how quiet it is. It compares favorably with our last two dishwashers that were high end Bosch machines, known for being quiet. Obviously, the "Good" overall rating, is based on performance, not the installation issues (which is why I cannot recommend this product to anyone with hard countertops). February 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrated I rated this product low for one reason, the unreliable plastic latch that "locks" the door during washing. It is not sturdy at all, and the washer will unlock during the cycle if any silverware in the front load silverware rack moves slightly out of place. This happens at least once almost every time I run the washer. I would never start it and leave because it happens mid-cycle, and I have to re-close the door to get it to start again. Even the person who installed it commented how poor the latch is. Otherwise, it seems to clean well enough and is quiet. I would love to know if anyone else has experienced this issue or if I have a lemon... September 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great dishwasher I bought this GE to replace my really expensive Maytag which I had nothing but trouble with. Replaced door latch three times, the rails on the side broke so I couldn't pull the trays out and could only use the bottom rack. When the latch broke for the 4th time, I had had it. I wanted something that just washed and cleaned my dishes; didn't have all of the bells and whistles! but had good reviews. This dishwasher is just right for my husband and I. I didn't realize how much noise the Maytag made until I got this one! You can't even hear it running. Home Depot delivered within two days of order; the young men who installed it were super efficient and the dishwasher was up and running in no time. I haven't had it very long but am more than satisfied. I purchased mine in black to go with other appliances and it looks great! December 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SUPER quiet and energy efficient Model GDF570SGF0CC We recently purchased this washer because of the stainless steel tub and biscuit color. The most amazing thing about this washer is the quietness of it. It is difficult to hear even when standing next to it. The other benefit of the unit is it's very low energy consumption, half of other units that I've seen. Of course, all of this means nothing if the dishes don't get clean. After trying the different cycles, we've determine that "Automatic" with heat boost mode seems to be the best. Dish's, glasses, pans all come out very clean. Also, the controls are easy to read and use. Top rack is easily adjustable and rack design is working very well for loading the dirty dishes. I can't attest to the longevity of the washer, but so far we are very pleased with the unit. November 11, 2013
