I have a GE model #GSD5130D01WW dishwasher that I am replacing with possibly a GSD4000DWW. The racks look to be different in the 4000.

Would the racks from the GSD5130D01WW fit in the GSD4000DWW? My racks in the 5130 look deeper and the top rack has a fold down shelf on one side. Also the silverware rack is different. I like the racks in the old GSD5130 better.

Hello Zachsmom-this is Sue from GE. I hope you are enjoying the convenience of your new dishwasher.
You cannot choose to run only the dry option.
To get the best dry performance from your dishwasher:
*Water entering the dishwasher should be between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to purge cold water from the hot water line.
*Check the rinse aid dispenser and fill it if it is empty. Rinse aids prevent spots on glasses and promote drying by causing water to sheet off dishware and glassware. Rinse Aids, such as Jet-Dry®, can be purchased in your local grocery store.
*Use the Hi Temp Wash and Hi Temp Rinse options. Any that add heat will improve dry performance.
I hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us. Read Less

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 114 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what we needed I purchased this dishwasher to replace an existing one. I ordered according to dimension specifications so we could switch the old and new easily. My husband had no issues with installation and the dishwasher works great! March 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible This unit was newly installed in my apartment before I moved in. It is terrible in pretty much every way. The interior is small and the racks are very poorly designed. Dishes do not firmly lean one way or the other and are constantly flopping back and forth. It is VERY loud both when the motor is running and when it is filling and there is a solenoid actuator underneath that makes a tremendous whack every time it is actuated. Finally, it is terrible at cleaning dishes and terrible at drying them. Bottom line, it looks okay from far away, but is of terrible quality in every respect (even opening and closing the door exudes a feeling of cheapness), and it performs very poorly. At best it is a decent place to store dishes that are already clean and to get them warm and wet, if you wish. January 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy!! I got this dishwasher not expecting too much but the basics. This is the worse dishwasher I've ever had. I've stopped using it and now just hand wash my dishes. They come out worse than they went in. And no, it's not my water or detergent. I've used the same with all my dishwashers and the one previous to this. Don't waste your money, keep looking!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Guaranteed to break in 3 years.... Installed in my new house 3 years ago, chosen by my builder. The lower washer arm cracked and broke after 3 years. 1. Loud, tough to watch TV in adjoining living room when running. 2. Top shelf is very difficult to slide in and out of top rack. Has been a problem since day 1, bowls do not stay upright when pushing top shelf in due to the friction of the track. January 9, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by materials feel cheap, noisy I was looking for a middle of the road dishwasher. I like the controls and the cycles. However, the unit itself feels cheaply made, not sturdy. The door is lightweight, and it seems like it won't last. The top rack does not glide smoothly. The unit is pretty quiet except when it changes from rinse/wash/dry... it makes a loud clunking sound. I would not buy this again, and don't recommend it. We are not returning it because we did not install it for several weeks once it was delivered. It is only me and my husband and I usually do the dishes by hand, so I will take my chances on having this unit last long enough to ge my money's worth out of it before buying something better. The lesson learned is to actually touch the product before buying online. October 9, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great features and performance. I bought this a month ago and I am happy with the performance. March 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good variety of features We replaced the old GE dishwasher with this one. I liked the drawers in the old dishwasher better, so we stole the old ones that hold the dishes better and the top drawer had a spinning arm to get the underside of the glasses and cups on top. It quiet and cleans very well. October 30, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Adequate Firstly, I did not choose this dishwasher, it was already installed in the kitchen when I bought my home. The home is fairly new, so I do know that the dishwasher is two years old. Other than when it first starts up, it is reasonably quiet. Reasonably, i.e. I can hear it, but it doesn't interfere with conversation, radio, or t.v., and it's probably a bit quieter than the microwave fan. It does NOT remove food from the dishes, nor food/lipstick transfer from the rims of glasses and cups, so all dishes must be rinsed and wiped prior to placing them in the dishwasher or the dishes will still be dirty after the cycle completes. Apparently previous owners did not rinse off food, so I had to spend hours cleaning the gross gunk from the ridge under the door and around the grate at the bottom of the tub. Top rack is neither adjustable, nor deep enough for small salad plates - fits only glasses, cups, and bowls, though only shallow bowls fit well; vertical rack spacing and shape do not accommodate coupe bowls. I can fit only four bowls - and that's tight - unless I use the space meant for glasses and lie the bowls flat/upside down. Bottom line: Good place to sterilize and dry dishes. When I have just a few dirty dishes, I am more likely to wash and dry them by hand. It's not much more work. January 15, 2016
