I have a GE model #GSD5130D01WW dishwasher that I am replacing with possibly a GSD4000DWW. The racks look to be different in the 4000.

Would the racks from the GSD5130D01WW fit in the GSD4000DWW? My racks in the 5130 look deeper and the top rack has a fold down shelf on one side. Also the silverware rack is different. I like the racks in the old GSD5130 better.

Hello Zachsmom-this is Sue from GE. I hope you are enjoying the convenience of your new dishwasher.
You cannot choose to run only the dry option.
To get the best dry performance from your dishwasher:
*Water entering the dishwasher should be between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to purge cold water from the hot water line.
*Check the rinse aid dispenser and fill it if it is empty. Rinse aids prevent spots on glasses and promote drying by causing water to sheet off dishware and glassware. Rinse Aids, such as Jet-Dry®, can be purchased in your local grocery store.
*Use the Hi Temp Wash and Hi Temp Rinse options. Any that add heat will improve dry performance.
I hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us. Read Less

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dishwasher This is a great dishwasher. So nice and quiet compared to the freight train we used to own. :) We love the high temp washes, the reservoir for the spot rinse, and the different cycles, esp. the china cycle and delay start. The inside has plenty of room and all the dishes come out clean, even the glasses are spot-free. We have hard water and use the rinse agent and they look great. There is a light that shows the dishes are clean, and it does not turn off until you hit the button to do so. No wondering if your dishes are clean or dirty. It's very nice. Highly recommend this dishwasher. The install was quick and perfect too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good washer overall It works well with the normal wash cycle lasting about 90 min which is not bad compare to some other that I read could last over 2 hours. I haven't tried any other setting so far. The heated dry doesn't seem necessary. All gets dry without it ,except plastic containers. I could use a small load, or light soil feature but didn't realize that one model didn't have it. The only problem I have is the lower rack wheels don't really stay align with the tracks on the side so when I push the drawer back inside, sometimes one side falls at the bottom. So I have to set it balanced before I start the wash otherwise it will fall during the cycle with a big bang of dishes. It might not impede the cycle but still, I wish I could just pull and push that drawer without having to check those wheels all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dishwasher for the money! We replaced a 3 year old, 3 times more expensive dishwasher with this basic unit. It cleans as good as the last one and takes less time. It does run a little louder. In the end a good product for a decent price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible This unit was newly installed in my apartment before I moved in. It is terrible in pretty much every way. The interior is small and the racks are very poorly designed. Dishes do not firmly lean one way or the other and are constantly flopping back and forth. It is VERY loud both when the motor is running and when it is filling and there is a solenoid actuator underneath that makes a tremendous whack every time it is actuated. Finally, it is terrible at cleaning dishes and terrible at drying them. Bottom line, it looks okay from far away, but is of terrible quality in every respect (even opening and closing the door exudes a feeling of cheapness), and it performs very poorly. At best it is a decent place to store dishes that are already clean and to get them warm and wet, if you wish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great, simple dishwasher. This dishwasher is very basic. It does not completely dry your dishes, but it gets the cleaning job done. Good deal for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Is quiet Was surprised how small it was inside. However, it does a good job cleaning the dishes and is quiet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This dishwasher was a great gift from our children! We were surprised and are enjoying it. It has a different configuration than our last and we're still getting used to setting things in. It definitely gets the dishes clean and the glasses on top are sparkling!
