This dishwasher is fantastic for the price! It truly takes away any food residue on the dishes. We put this to the test every time since we always have bowls with stuck-on oatmeal and it's always gone! Because of this, we use the Heavy cycle with the steam and heat dry options. Our small plastic lids stay on the fold-down racks located on the upper sides. Yes, the inner door is still wet when the cycle is complete but the dishes aren't, which is what we care about. One word of advice when you get your dishwasher (or anything else!), check and double-check your item to make sure it looks okay and the door functions without any problems. Ours had a defective (warped) tub and the door was rubbing the upper left corner when you try to close it. No problem, we called GE within 48 hours of receiving it and a repairman came out and inspected..................since it was not cost effective to replace the tub, they recommended a replacement. Called HD and a replacement was scheduled to arrive in a week. Ten stars for HD!! Our only worry is the door latch..........it's made of hard plastic. Why plastic on a mechanism that's heavily used????? Overall, the dishwasher performs great! Soooooo quiet!

The dishes never come out clean! I have had this washer for almost a year, and every load numerous dishes still come out dirty. I have tried all different soaps, prerinsing, cleaning the washer and nothing helps. Stay away!

I have had this machine for almost a month and i can say that it definitely washes glassware better than my old one. However, if you use the steam cycle, the dishwasher remains so wet inside (for days) even after the heated dry cycle. There is literally water dripping from everywhere and even your dishes get wet while unloading them from all the condensation. I have been using the autosense cycle since and the results are pretty good. Not sure i am crazy about the cutlery basket's location - have a feeling there is no sufficient water reaching it and if i had to chose, i would definitely prefer the basket inside on the rack. Overall, a decent purchase.

This dishwasher is beautiful and amazingly quiet. The interior is a hybrid stainless and the racks are adjustable and the silverware baskets hand on the front of the racks and are on both the upper and lower rack leaving the entire area of the rack for dishes. Both silverware baskets are removable. Has a steam function and a boosted temp wash as well as a sani cycle plus it will also sense the amount of dirt or you can run normal or light cycles. One note is make sure you use a drying agent or rinse agent because all the new dishwashers I have seen or heard of do not dry well without it because of new government energy efficiency standards. I thought there was something wrong with the drying and once I added the rinse agent it drys like I am use to.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DirtyDishes Less than a year and issues
Less a year into it and this dishwasher has issues. The detergent dispenser gets hung in the closed position. We only use liquid type and almost 100% of the time Cascade. Glasses are now all cloudy. Now we have to go in and check to see it opened on every load. Pretty sure the rinse aid dispenser is broken as well as you can fill it up and a couple of days later it's empty. Now I have to bring in a service man and spend maybe $100-200 to get it fixed. After only a year. It is out of warranty. GE, you do not build things to last anymore.

This was the worst purchase we have ever made!! I didn't even want to choose one star but in order to leave a feedback I had to. Purchase dishwasher middle of February 2014. Right from the start dishes were not being cleaned. Water would refill in the bottom of dishwasher for no reason in between washing For 3 weeks we tried different soaps and additives. Tried all the suggestions from the owners manual. Finally we called GE. Had to wait a week for appt. Repair man said maybe the computer in the control panel. It would be another few weeks until that part would come in. Had another appt for repair man to replace the part. When he got here he said it may be a number of different things that could be wrong. So instead of replacing part by part GE had a glass door that they had ordered so when cycle was washing it could be watched to see what the problem was. Mmmmmm. Got a call and was told we will be their the next day because door had arrived. Repair man got here and asked what he was here for??? The door had never come in. So here it is almost the middle of June got a phone call this past Monday to schedule appt glass door was in. Made appt for next day waited waited waited.... husband called around 3:00..... We we told the glass door had not come in and we should have never been called to schedule appt. Waited very patiently these past few months. But after yesterday called Home Depot and took dishwasher back. I must say however, Home Depot was wonderful!!!!! I have attached some pictures of what the dished would look like after cleaned. Spatula in picture has peanut butter on it going into dishwasher and still had the peanut butter on it coming out . The dish had gone through 3 wash cycles and this is as good as it got. The glass shows food that gets redeposited on all the dishes. I have had to throw away about 1/2 of my silverware because the food that gets redeposited onto everything had gotten into the small crevices that I could not get them clean. Ultimately it is your decision to buy or not buy this product. If you do, I hope you get better service then we did. Because with this dishwasher you will be having to call them to repair it from the get go. Your dishes come out dirtier then they were going in!!!

Great machine for the money, very easy to install because installation instructions were very clear. It is a big machine and will fill the whole space for it so make sure there is enough room for it. We are still in the process of remodeling the complete kitchen and this a great upgrade from our old machine. It is very easy to use and does exactly what it is supposed to do...clean dishes and big pots and pans. I like the way the lower rack comes all the way out because I have some big pots and huge cutting boards that are easy to put in and take out without having to angle them in or out. The steam function is awesome and the sanitize feature is incredible. For a big machine it is very quiet, you knew when our old machine was running not this one, and it plays a little jingle when the cycle is done. Would recommend this unit to anyone, great value.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TGBueller Exceeded my expectations - Excellent wash and dry
The unit was easy to install. I was concerned about it sitting so deep into the cabinet but it looks great and came with the rubber fill panels to allow for the recessed fit. The cycles for cleaning are nice and easy to use. The front buttons are easy to use and see along with the LEDs that light up according to the cycle it is on.
Cleaning solution. We changed from Cascade liquid to the pods because they were just easier to use. Everything comes out SPOTLESS and we are on well water with some extra minerals in our water. Everything also comes out dried, to near perfection (9.5/10) I like the stainless steel interior door mixed with the plastic tub. The filter is easy to remove and simple to wash out (if needed). The item has some pleasant musical tones that it plays when the door is opened and when the wash has completed.
The top rack is adjustable to allow for taller glasses. The top rack slides extremely easy, in and out, whether full or empty. The bottom rack is not adjustable (doesn't need to be), and has a little more resistance when sliding in and out, empty or full.
Both racks have lots of neat features to hold utensils (silverware & cutlery). It is a learning curve to go from what we had (1980's unit) and loading it to how we will load this unit.
The washer is very quiet and very pleasant. We can easily have conversations with the washer on in our small kitchen.
Cleans and dries better than I ever expected.
The only negative thing that I can comment on is the top rack and holding glasses upright. Some glasses, based on their shape, don't stay in place (fall over). Maybe there is just a learning curve to it. Never the less, the glasses still come out clean and dry.
Price paid $500 (10/13)
