I bought it when Home Depot had a special going during the holidays, and it just doesn't clean dishes well at all. Even though the instructions say don't pre-wash your dishes, you have to if you want them to be clean. We've had three repairmen out, and they all say the water inside this dishwasher cannot stay hot enough because there's no heating element to keep the water hot, and if you don't have hot water, you don't get clean dishes. We even use the hot start feature to no avail. I sincerely wish we had selected another dishwasher.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by George works well so far
Seems to work fine overall though the "heated dry" feature does not work as well as our previous dishwasher (and older GE model). Also, Home Depot should be more careful when they provide the install kit parts -- it turned out that the hose that they made me buy as being required for the installation would NOT work with this dishwasher model, so I was lucky that the Home Depot delivery guy pointed that out to me and gave me the right elbow connector and dishwasher hose instead (many thanks to him!).

I am in love with this new dishwasher. We've been a year without one, and we've had this one only a week. We bought a Maytag stainless interior one and Home Depot was kind enough to take it back as we did not like it. We figured out what to look for: dba sound was not a huge issue as there is no set standard, it needs to vent in the front (many do not and then it makes it "quieter" and the dishes are wet) and the other feature was no "soil sensor". That last one just seems like one more thing to break and it can make the cycle run too long.
THis one is quiet, cleans OK, actually good, and the heating element does dry it OK too. No dishwasher is going to do the magic we want, but this one is fantastic so far!
It is a bit smaller size inside, nice stainless inside though. I

I am not sure if I just got a bad one or not but it really is junk. I paid extra for this particular model when my last dishwasher died after only 3 years. I have had it for 7 months now and wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. It is a waste of water, electricity and detergent. I am already thinking of throwing it out and getting a new one. Very angry and will NEVER get a GE again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sharug G E Dishwasher
This dishwasher does an excellent job on washing...I would use heated water or dry heat to get the best results. It is quiet which is a priority for me. I bought this GE Dishwasher to replace another GE that was just worn out. Good product at a working man's price. GE also has an excellent service record. To a senior, that is an important item.

the washing dispenser empties directly onto the dishes, if it opens at all, on the bottom shelf and then gets dried on before ever getting rinsed off
had to switch to liquid detergent because the door would not open when using the pods
wish I would have returned it but it was a pain to get in so did not want to take the time to take it out

Unfortunately we did not have enough clearance space to fit a normal-sized dishwasher to replace the one we had, so had to get an ADA-compliant one, which is slightly smaller. The dishwasher is quiet and does a good job of washing the dishes, however, its drying cycle takes an excessively long time. Also the arrangement of the tines in the dish racks is not convenient for washing bowls or other large or oddly-shaped items. We do like the stainless steel interior. We are somewhat concerned that the dishwasher may only last 7-10 years as the sales associate warned us. Our old one lasted over 20 years, so we are concerned about the apparent lack of durability of newer dishwashers.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy333 Fits GREAT after putting in 3/4" hardwood floors!
We recently had hardwood floors put in. The installer was just going to install UP TO our old dishwasher. I asked, what happens when we get a new dishwasher down the line? Are we supposed to rip up flooring or remove counter tops to get it out?! What if it leaks? How will we know if the water can't run out? It will run under the new hardwood? So we removed our old dishwasher, had the installer put flooring under where it would be.
THEN we had to look for a dishwasher to fit the shorter space. THIS ONE DOES. We had tried another "hidden controls", but that vented under the top of the counter! So GE replaced it with this model. PERFECT! It vents out the front, which makes so much more sense. Washes GREAT, and is QUIET! It has less bells and whistles than the hidden controls type, but we didn't need all the extras anyway....it was confusing.. and we just want dishes to get clean. This dishwasher has PLENTY of washing action with a strong spray (but not too strong). I would recommend this washer to everyone.
