The amount of joules will determine how long the surge protector will be able to protect your equipment. The more joules the surge protector has the longer it should be able to protect the equipment. To my knowledge there isn’t a guide that says if you have this equipment you need a surge protector with X number of joules. You should always get a surge protector with the most joules that you can afford. Read More

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by performs as expected. You plug it into a wall receptacle and can then plug up to three devices into it! It has an indicator light to show that it is surge protected, but how would I know how reliable that is? April 18, 2013
