Customer Questions & Answers

What size hole is needed to feed wire through wall?

I'm curious if hole diameter must accommodate power and video connectors. Live in condo and need BOD approval to drill holes from common area to unit.
Asked by: Georgia
I did not have to drill any holes in the wall - mine is mounted in the window and the monitor is next to it. 100 ft. of wire was too much for me. But I can move my camera to a different location when I am ready

Hello Joe, Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our Indoor/Outdoor Color Camera. This camera comes with a 60ft cable and includes the 3 wire adapter, the adapter has a power end for the AC adapter, a video male (RCA type) and audio male (RCA type). This allows for cable/camera to plug into analog ports of a monitor. If you have any further questions, we encourage you to respond or contact our Customer Support through phone or email. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has been working great for years I have had two of these outdoors in MD weather for probably 5 years now. They are under an overhang so they don't get rained on (unless there is a strong storm), but they do get humid and very hot and cold every year. No problems yet. The IR isn't that great but with a porch light on at night they can easily see the driveway and our cars. The best thing about it is the small size, a standard day/night camera is 5 or 6 times bigger. The only other bad thing is the connection, it has some kind of weird S-Video like proprietary connector that connects to a lead that has the RCA connectors on it. There is also an additional white RCA in addition to the yellow video one, but idk exactly what that's for since afaik this camera doesn't have any audio capabilities. Anyway you will need an RCA to BNC adapter to hook up to a DVR, and that is at the end of the 60' lead, not at the camera like all other standard security cameras, and the wires are too small a gauge to cut and re-solder. If you can get past those two drawbacks it is an outstanding camera. I have bought 3 so far with no issues. The other guy must have got a bad unit.
