PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Model # IM6

Internet # 100025255

GE IM6 ice maker uses an electric motor, an electronically operated water valve, and an electrical heating unit. Hooks up to the plumbing line in your house to provide fresh water for ice cubes. The water-fill valve supplies household water to the ice maker. Comes complete with ice maker, bucket, and valve. Equipped with a new plastic feeler arm. This kit replaces the IM-1, IM-2, IM-3, IM-4, IM4A, IM5, IM5SS, UKKIT1, UKKIT2, UKKIT4, UKKIT5, WR30X318, WR30X10012 and WR30X10014. This kit will replace some applications of the WR30X0253, which is the old style round cube ice maker. It will replace applications where the ice maker is mounted on the left wall of the freezer. The ice maker produces crescent cubes.

  • Can be installed in most side-by-side, bottom mount and top freezer refrigerators
  • Electronic control board
  • On/Off slide switch to stop cube production
  • Water level adjustment screw to regulate cube size
  • Anti-jamming feature that causes jammed cubes to melt away

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 109 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paying for the name... Great product, easy install, but pricey in comparison to other brands and generics. Don't buy this directly from GE or you'll pay twice the HD price. This replaces numerous other models, so you'll have a bag or worthless left-over pieces. Let there be ice! March 20, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not too bad Ice maker is installed and working great. My refrigerator lined up with the letter "M" and thankfully I read the reviews before cutting some of the pieces (which would have been cut too short), other than that I would just note that you have to buy the water supply line (that connects from your water supply to the actual fridge (not included but very inexpensive). Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The perfect addition to a great fridge This product was easy to install and instructions were easy to follow. Home Depot's price was unbeatable and was delivered straight to my home on the day they said it would arrive. It makes so much ice that we have to use 2 trays to store the ice. Much faster than some of those universal models out there. July 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love the Ice Maker. It has made office life much better not having to fill trays all the time. Unit makes Ice Quickly. Installed pretty easily. Fridge was labeled with a letter from the factory and you match up the letter on the directions. Very well thought out. October 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Automatic Icemaker for Hotpoint refrigerators The Ice maker was easy to install, and the documentation was easy to read. Since the ice maker will fit multiple models care must be taken to find the model number on the back of the refrigerator. On that point the instructions were not clear and a call to the GE service center needed to be placed for clarification. The new ice maker has been working well for several months since installation. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by replacement for GE Monogram ice maker This GE ice maker kit is an exact fit for a GE Monogram bottom freezer refrigerator. It fit exactly, the only thing I needed to do was to transfer the old feeler arm to the new unit. Don't call for GE Monogram service, do it yourself, it's easy. June 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but beware of instructions... Good unit, relatively easy to install for a moderately mechanical person like me. Only problem encountered was the template to cut the fill tube for my unit (instructions part M) is wrong (also references the wrong page) and I ended up with it too short to work. GE was useless (Answer Center and Parts) and luckily when I went to a local supplier (not GE) one of their service people had the bag of left over parts from the exact same ice maker installation kit in his truck...the tube I needed had not been used and they gave it to me. None of this is HD's issue. Definitely a GE documentation problem. They did not seem overly concerned or interested in fixing it. July 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ice maker Installed easily, wish it had a filter system on it, we added one. January 22, 2007
