Answer:
I found a journeyman electrician in the neighborhood to install it on his own time for $550, with me supplying the parts. It took about three hours. Two companies in the Houston area wanted $1350 and $1500 (parts included). He didn't have the electric company turn off power to the house before he did it - a risky procedure.

Can the main breaker be relocated, say to the left hand side or to the bottom left hand side? Is it simply a stab in breaker like the other breakers you install? Im concerned the existing main wires may not reach to the top right hand sides

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New electrical panel Good value for money , Ge is a brand you can rely on June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent expansion box I have 3 out buildings that needed to be moved off hose box added this at meter location and use it for the outbuildings with additional space if ever needed. Freed up space in house box. I have been using GE boxes for more than 20 years with excellent success no problems with breakers or boxes. January 31, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good No problems with this order... Shipped quickly.... December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outdoor Main Breaker Metal parts are very good, well made. Plastic components are thin, cheap and flimsy- not sure if they will last the many years necessary. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great deal plenty of space, heavy duty can. good price, solid buss bar June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by economical and works I installed it just fine. wiring for the main breaker is tough. the breaker is in a tight spot and it is difficult to get the thick wire in. If I were to do it over I would get something more expensive that is easier to wire. Also GE parts are difficult to come by in Seattle. and the hub does not come with the package. It is a value kit for someone who has more time than money. September 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No problems Replaced a similar GE load center installed when the house was new in 1965. It was working OK, but was a bit rusty and I wanted a main breaker. No issues with the installation, but a licensed electrician is strongly recommended. I found one willing to install it on his own time. May 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product but its not labelled right this is an OUTDOOR load center product works perfect but its an outdoor load center not for use indoors May 1, 2012
