We opened the microwave to install and the stainless steel front has creases and factory imperfections everywhere. In bright light the reflection amplifies the poor craftsmanship GE sold us. We called GE and they sent out the repairman. The replacement door was even worst. The poor quality of the stainless wrap on these doors is unbelievable. You would think GE would have this mastered by now. Looks like my microwave was in a car accident. Never again with GE as even our new refrigerator has the same dings and outies imperfections. We will find a manufacturer that can make a door smooth and form fitting with pride, not the poor quality GE is selling these days. Even the GE repairman says they are all like this. No wonder they are losing marketshare. Our new kitchen looked awesome until we added the appliances.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lori Expensive for a generic microwave
I was cornered into buying this microwave after we found out it was literally the ONLY one that would fit into our kitchen island as a built-in. (Word to the wise: check the specs on the TRIM KIT before choosing your cabinetry, not just the microwave.) For a run-of-the-mill countertop microwave, I thought it was pretty pricey. It doesn't really have any features that warrant the extra cost, so if you're not choosing purely based on dimensions, go for another model that offers more for your buck. It works well, looks fine, just nothing special about it.

We had a GE microwave for 24 years and when it died we wanted another GE. This Profile Series was the only one that fit our under the cabinet cut out. Shapes and sizes have changed a lot. So far, we are adapting to the new purchase - don't have to press start, sensor feature is still confounding us, the flat input pad is not as responsive as our old one, but all in all, it will probably fit our needs. Wish I could give a more hearty endorsement, perhaps I will once I become accustomed to it, but it does seem that the fancier things get, the less we want to use them. Basically, I want to reheat things or warm them up, like a cup of tea. There's no reheat code for bread like the old one, only for pizza, plate, and a variety of meats. The height on this model is not sufficient, but the only alternative requires a really deep and wide space that we cannot accommodate. Hoping it all works out.

So very happy with the trim package and how it is built into the cabinets. Plenty large for what we need it to do.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DallasHome Doesn't seem like profile quality
Our old profile died, and had to replace it So ordered this one as it was only profile line option that fit in the old space. Something about it seems lower quality - not as many functions on the touchpad and the door button seems like it will break before the microwave dies. It also doesn't have the profile emblem, which made me question it

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JonDrifter Wow, small...compact and powerful
Wow, the only size that would fit in a specific shelf in the kitchen. At first, size from the picture had me concerned however, once I got it I was impressed on how compact but room it was. Also, how quiet it runs and how good it heats food. Highly recommended.

Had the older model for 13 years and was sorry to see it stop working. New model doing great with easy built-in installation. Looking forward to years of great service. Runs so quiet sometimes I forget it is even on.

We bought a home in 2014 and the prior owners left their countertop GE Profile Series microwave for us. I loved that microwave, it was 8 years old, and it stopped heating 2 weeks ago. I bought another GE Profile Series microwave just like it, and I found that there has to be something setting on the glass tray for the microwave to work. That's an improvement, because I now don't accidentally start the microwave when I've forgotten to put something in it to defrost or heat.
