I believe they stay in. You just hit the turntable button and it stops revolving.

Hi Summgardner-this is Sue from GE. We are happy to help!
The turntable and turntable support remains in the oven when preheating and using the convection bake cycle. The shelves are used with Convection Bake, Convection Roast or Combination Fast Bake cycles.

You leave them in. I just shut it off so it isn't turning. Make sure you are using the proper cookware when using convection as it gets very hot like your oven would. Good Luck.

Hello-- The unit was designed for the turntable to remain in the unit during operation of the convection oven. I do, however, hit the button to turn the turntable rotation OFF when I'm using the convection oven.

Microwave plates only for microwave. Oven safe pans or dishes for baking or roasting. I'm not clear on the fast bake yet.

Hello. I need some clarification on the use of the two wire racks. Can the racks can be used in microwave mode?

There is a discrepency in the Quick Use & Care manual and the label on the racks. On page two of the Q.U.&C. Manual it states "Remove the microwave rack when not in use". The label on the rack states "Do not use this rack during microwave cooking". The other rack has no label. Both racks look the same. My older GE over the range microwave could use the wire rack while in use. Please advise me on the use of the two racks. Thank you.

It is designed for use in a microwave oven only. Do not use it in a conventional oven and do not operate your microwave oven with a shelf in place unless you have food in the oven. Never use a microwave-browning dish with the shelf. Heat from the browning dish can damage the shelf. The easy way to clean the shelf is to put it in a dishwasher or to wash it in hot water with mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. A microwave should never be run while it is empty. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us! Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by not bad Fan rattles a little on high. Noticed the door is slightly misaligned. It does heat quickly and throrougly. Cant wait to try convection feature. Sometimes a bit of an issue with steam getting between the two pieces of plastic on the door, but leaving the fan on when you have pans boiling on your stove below will somewhat mitigate against that. Was a bit annoyed that no paper manual was included in the factory sealed box (come on now... If i pay almost 600 bucks gove me a dang manual) and that the 76 page manual wasnt available online when we the microwave 2 months ago so havent been able to try the convection feature yet. maybe 5 stars when i read manual and try other features August 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great microwave Love love! and for the price and convection --- totally great microwave August 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed after 1 yr & 10 months Happy to've found a decent convection microwave that generally matched our other stainless steel appliances. Vent fan is exceptionally loud. Ok microwave. VERY disappointed when it failed less than 2 yrs old. Purchase date 10/13/14. Wouldn't let us take one home. Had to wait, & take off work, for delivery. Failed 8/27/16. Home Depot wouldn't accept review without at least 1, unearned, star. August 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convection/Microwave This was installed in my motor home and I have only used it a few times but it seems like it is going to be a good choice for us. August 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by General Features We bought this microwave to use in our updated kitchen 2 months ago Installed it week of July 17, 2016 So far love it - YET microwave is set to Celsius and cannot change setting to Fahrenheit. Have been using the correction faction to convert to Fahrenheit setting from Celsius. Cannot find any online help for this. Directions online direct for changing setting using a bake and broiler setting method, yet this model does not have a broiler setting. Can GE please help Please let us know how to change setting and a direct phone number to customer support to speak with someone directly and the hours to contact. This is frustrating to cook meals this way Otherwise like model August 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love, Love, Love! I have wanted a convection/microwave oven for nearly 20 years and now that I have this one it doesn't disappoint! We have re-heated leftovers on all settings as well as baked potatoes and made almost entire meals. The convection option is great for reheating things that get soggy in the microwave, like bacon or enchiladas, and the combination setting is wonderful for fast cooking that tastes oven-baked. We don't have a double oven and we have a large family so this is perfect to give me extra flexibility when I have a large crowd to feed. The only complaint we had is the oven says it is designed for easy installation, but installing it was terribly difficult and took several hours with both my husband and son working on it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase Bought his product to replace 4 year old GE stainless steel microwave convection because wanted to keep all appliances the same. My only disappointment besides the prior product only lasting 4 years is that the new stainless secondary color is grey and not black so it does not match the other appliances in my kitchen. What happened to appliances lasting 20 years and now looks like I need to replace all my appliances to match. What's up with that! July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome oven! I bought this a few months ago and am very happy I did. It has a convection bake setting that I have used quite a bit. I was wary at first, buy the bake option works just like any regular oven and is very easy to use. Now I feel like I have the double oven I always wanted without the extra space used up! The only reason it's not 5 stars is that I can't just put the time in that I want, I have to twist a knob that only gives my 15 second increments. It's also 4 steps just too turn on the microwave oven, kind of ridiculous. But overall I really love! August 7, 2016
