Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MyCrowWave A step above standard with multiple features
An "expanded-feature" appliance for the cooking enthusiast. A consolidation of amenities for the recreational vehicle. An addition to your existing oven space that arrives in a slightly more compact design. The construction is solid with an intuitive user interface that feels like a cut above.
We ordered this appliance primarily for the sleek design, the slightly smaller size specifications as well as a build quality that absolutely takes the GE Profile model series a step above standard. The price point is acceptable, especially considering you get a dual-feature item outfitted with a 100% stainless steel interior.
This appliance arrived exactly on time to our front door at no additional cost through a shipping company that was professional, clean and super polite. The item appeared as though it was packed that same day.
This reviewer installed the appliance the day it arrived. The instructions are crystal clear. The mounting hardware is heavy-duty and likely to accommodate the slightly heavier frame of the appliance. The rear mounting frame came attached to the appliance. Since we have a rear-discharge vent already in place the fan had to be transitioned from the default top-exhaust to or required configuration. An additional, front-vent configuration is available and GE includes your charcoal filter with the kit for those who cannot or do not have an outside ventilation option.
After a few days of ownership, a few features really stand out. The first is the stove top lighting color temperature (halogen bulbs) which are a nice warm range that match our current under-counter lighting. An inclusion to this is the auto on/off setting for an AM/PM time user preference. Beep loudness is another item that is a nice setting. A dial that is both push-button and rotating allows the user to select temperature ranges and step through to the next option layer. You can enabled and disable the turn table at will. The fan has three speeds and will automatically engage if necessary. The appliance also has a sensor feature although we have not adequately tested this.
We did however test the convection oven and while it does take a while longer to reach an operational temperature than a larger convection oven, the wait is not too long and the heat was uniform and the food cooked evenly. We wonder why the instructions state to never use the wire shelving during microwave use but it's a consideration for which to remain aware. The microwave has many user settings and the 1000 watts is powerful enough to suit out needs.
Overall, we recommend this item. It's worth the additional cost to get an appliance this is better quality, looks great and hopefully will perform for many years to come.

I bought and installed this microwave a few months ago. So far, so good. I am not thrilled with the knob but once we got use to it, it has been okay.
I have not had the opportunity to use all of the functions so the jury is still out.

Great microwave. A little concerned about the durability of the timer knob. wish there was a way to set the
timer to a specific time. The timer knob only sets time in 15 second increments(15,30,45,60...)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WJD1950 Very nice unit, but a bit quirky controls
We purchased this over-the-range microwave to replace a GE unit of similar design that dated from the 90s. It fit nicely into the same space, is much more attractive, and is of excellent quality.
Only issue is that the controls are not intuitive. They're quirky. Not like any other microwave I have ever used. You don't set the time using number keys, buthave to choose the correct function, then turn a knob to adjust time or power. Very awkward.

We had this appliance installed 2 weeks ago, and found that the front glass fogs up when liquids are heated in the range, which happens to be a new GE. Really not happy that something this expensive fails basic functionality this early in its life. Very concerned for what is to come. Called for Service. Had to call twice because the first person I spoke to told me after about 20 minutes that her computer wasn't working. This of course happened when I asked to be transferred to a Supervisor. I asked for them to call me back, she said they don't do that. Second person I talked to was much more helpful. I'll update this review as the issue is addressed. First available Service appointment is 10 days from date of call. They are also coming out to figure out why the left front burner on an equally new range just stopped working entirely. GE = 0 for 2.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LJK Waste of Money - Second Repair in 2 Weeks
I bought his oven and had it installed mid-December. The third week of January, after using the convection roast feature, it completely died, no power at all. GE repair came the next week had to take it off the cabinet mount to repair it. Two days later I used the convection roast again with the same result. Scheduled a second repair appointment a few days out. Just got a call from the repairman, he won't be coming today as he is ordering parts and they will call with a new appointment in about a week. What a colossal waste of $500.

Not like a second oven! Not even a good microwave! Bought this prior to thanksgiving thinking it would be a great addition to our main oven having the flexiblity of a second convection oven and a microwave. Unfortunately it doesnt work that way. Incapable of being used effectively as a convection oven this appliance was a complete and total fail. It is underpowered for this use and effectively worthless. Even the microwave is weak and doesnt measure up to the old cheap countertop model it replaced. Save your money and buy a normal microwave. The lack of a normal number pad only adds to frustration. Time cook is only adjustable in 15 second increments and is just a pain to use. Keypad is so much better and intuitive than this dial. I do not recomend this appliance. Overpriced and underemgineered. Seems to be the norm for GE.

We've had this in our condo for about 6 weeks. As soon as it was installed it made a ticking/squeaking sound when it wasn't even being used. GE sent in a technician to repair this and it was fixed ; however, the convection oven does not consistently heat. We've had the repair person come in twice to repair this. The first time he realized that it needed new parts. He ordered the parts and we scheduled a third visit for the repair. When he arrived, he realized the wrong parts were ordered. He then re-ordered the correct parts (allegedly), but we will now need a 4th repair visit (at least) to resolve the faulty convection oven feature.
This has been a frustrating experience. I called the GE consumer complaints line, but was basically given scripted lip service and told that the oven couldn't be replaced, because it wasn't deemed "irrepairable". I am hoping the 4th visit fixes this. I'm sure if this thing actually worked it would be a nice appliance, but my individual experience has been dreadful. Good luck!
