Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 312 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by big disappointment My unit has had three service calls and it still cannot bake a potato (bottom is mush and the top is hard using the potato sensor cycle) or reheat anything (significantly over heats) with the sensor. The soften cycle is also mis-calibrated, and there isn't a "melt" cycle. I've had the sensor replaced, as well as the control board, neither had any impact on the performance. Or, perhaps it's the design: this appliance cannot be a microwave AND a convection oven. It's impossible to hear the beep from the next room at the loudest setting (beep volume is adjustable). GE is not willing to stand behind the product-- they are insisting on a fourth service call. August 29, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not to be paired with GE Profile Range I've purchased two of these ovens-one for myself at my previous residence, and one for my parents' home. I love the fact that it can give you the benefits of a double oven, with the convenience of still having a microwave. The convection oven combo is at first hard to wrap your brain around - you can roast and bake in it with metal pans, but it works terrifically, Just last night, I roasted a crown pork roast in it at 25 degrees less than the recipe and in 45 minutes less time. It came out to perfection. The reason for my low score is that the handle did not hold up from the heat of the GE Profile range below. I never had that with my Frigidaire range- and both were the same distance from the microwaves above. Stand alone though, this is a really great microwave but made so much better with the convection oven. December 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love GE appliances It is expensive but we bought it to go with the existing appliances. It works great. We have yet to use the convection oven but bought it with that feature in mind. We had bought one thru an outside dealer but they sent a defective unit so we ordered this time through Home Depot and love the installers they provide. December 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by convection slow to preheat First time user for convection microwave. I bought the convection option to use as a 2nd oven for small items. So far it has baked or roasted them fine, but it takes a LONG time to preheat it, so prepare ahead. I still need to experiment with temp settings and times of favorite recipes. It is noisy when using the convection feature, but maybe all the convection microwaves are like that. The dial takes some getting used to, but once you master it it is OK. The surface lights are nice and bright and the fan on highest speed is too loud to use, but there are 2 other settings. You will need a handy place to store the large racks used for convection cooking since they have to be removed for regular microwave use, and taking them in and out can be a problem if you don't have them close by. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Some notes about this product This unit will provide the cooking space when the oven is crowded and does a really nice job of baking casseroles and other side meals. I have not tried a main dish as of yet. This unit does put out heat while in the bake mode and it seems a little more intense due to the location of the heat, by your face, something we are not use to while cooking in an oven. The filter, I see a couple of comment on the filter. The unit is made to install with a fan hooked to an outside duct that faces out the back or out the top. It can operate without having any ducting and simply re-circulates the air through a charcoal filter. For this you will need a filter not provided by GE. Part number WB02X10943 which you can buy at HD for 28 bucks or an online superstore for 8 bucks. The knob does take time to get use to but it does make the unit look more refined and not just another common microwave hanging above a stove. This is a great microwave at a fraction of the price of other microwaves that offers the convection bake technology. Highly recommend this item. June 30, 2014
