Rated 1 out of 5Â by pkgdiva big disappointment
My unit has had three service calls and it still cannot bake a potato (bottom is mush and the top is hard using the potato sensor cycle) or reheat anything (significantly over heats) with the sensor.
The soften cycle is also mis-calibrated, and there isn't a "melt" cycle.
I've had the sensor replaced, as well as the control board, neither had any impact on the performance.
Or, perhaps it's the design: this appliance cannot be a microwave AND a convection oven.
It's impossible to hear the beep from the next room at the loudest setting (beep volume is adjustable).
GE is not willing to stand behind the product-- they are insisting on a fourth service call.

I've purchased two of these ovens-one for myself at my previous residence, and one for my parents' home. I love the fact that it can give you the benefits of a double oven, with the convenience of still having a microwave.
The convection oven combo is at first hard to wrap your brain around - you can roast and bake in it with metal pans, but it works terrifically, Just last night, I roasted a crown pork roast in it at 25 degrees less than the recipe and in 45 minutes less time. It came out to perfection.
The reason for my low score is that the handle did not hold up from the heat of the GE Profile range below. I never had that with my Frigidaire range- and both were the same distance from the microwaves above.
Stand alone though, this is a really great microwave but made so much better with the convection oven.

It's a tad overwhelming. Lots of directions. You seriously do not want to wing this without reading ALL the directions twice. So far I have roasted a chicken, baked broccoli and warmed juice. I miss the broccoli microwave setting on my last microwave. It just lets me get close with fresh vegtables. I must buy smaller cookie bake pans. I do not recommend this product until GE perfects it.

This unit will provide the cooking space when the oven is crowded and does a really nice job of baking casseroles and other side meals. I have not tried a main dish as of yet. This unit does put out heat while in the bake mode and it seems a little more intense due to the location of the heat, by your face, something we are not use to while cooking in an oven. The filter, I see a couple of comment on the filter. The unit is made to install with a fan hooked to an outside duct that faces out the back or out the top. It can operate without having any ducting and simply re-circulates the air through a charcoal filter. For this you will need a filter not provided by GE. Part number WB02X10943 which you can buy at HD for 28 bucks or an online superstore for 8 bucks.
The knob does take time to get use to but it does make the unit look more refined and not just another common microwave hanging above a stove. This is a great microwave at a fraction of the price of other microwaves that offers the convection bake technology. Highly recommend this item.

This is follow-up to "3rd Time's the Charm". This is my 3rd Profile in as many months. First one died, Home Depot replaced. 2nd one wouldn't brown evenly, Home Depot again exchanged. Third one will not preheat to temp or brown. You may ask why in the world would I recommend this product after the problems I've had. After the 2nd one, I looked for another convection microwave with the features, and couldn't find one I liked. I love the features in this oven: the rack is low so I can cook turkeys/hams; it's deep and wide for large lasagna pans; I love the dial (didn't think I'd like, but wouldn't buy one without now); it feels well built..the door handle is great and it's tight when you shut the door; the features are perfect for my needs...I bake a lot. Home Depot has been excellent and wouldn't buy an appliance anywhere else. Just called GE for service on this 3rd oven. If they can fix so it will work properly, I'll be extremely happy with this oven. I'd recommend ONLY IF YOU PURCHASE A PROTECTION PLAN.
