One item the reviews do not mention is how to vent the micro. my previous micro vented into the room and had NO problems. This micro vents from the top directly onto your cabinets not from the FRONT and out. This difference mean you must wash ,wash, wash your cabinets because the charcoal filter does not remove any grease. I do cook a lot and do not fry. if you buy vent it OUTSIDE. Would buy again works just fine, need to work a little bit more with the oven because it is a lot hotter than my old micro/oven and have burnt a few items spinach pie, pot pie, bread.

I've purchased two of these ovens-one for myself at my previous residence, and one for my parents' home. I love the fact that it can give you the benefits of a double oven, with the convenience of still having a microwave.
The convection oven combo is at first hard to wrap your brain around - you can roast and bake in it with metal pans, but it works terrifically, Just last night, I roasted a crown pork roast in it at 25 degrees less than the recipe and in 45 minutes less time. It came out to perfection.
The reason for my low score is that the handle did not hold up from the heat of the GE Profile range below. I never had that with my Frigidaire range- and both were the same distance from the microwaves above.
Stand alone though, this is a really great microwave but made so much better with the convection oven.

Our 20 year old counter top Sharp Microwave finally stopped working. Decided to replace with an over the range model to gain more counter space. After reviewing many different models we choose this GE microwave. After some remodeling to accommodate for the power outlet and mounting plate, it installed rather easy. Have had it now for about a month and really enjoy having the power of both convection and microwave cooking in one unit. Looks great and love the features (the large dial that is used to change features, time adjustable night light, express microwave button, etc...). Only complaint would be that the owner’s manual does not come with the unit. I originally thought that it was a mistake but after calling the service dept. I was told that they stopped including them and that we can download it online. I told the lady that after paying over $500 that I expect the owner’s manual to be included. The last thing I want to do is have to try and download it and then print it. The Lady did say that this has been a big source of complaints and that they may start including them again.

Having never used a Convection Microwave I have found that this one is simple to learn/use. So far I have cooked biscuits, a pie, reheated pizza and more in the convection and love it. It is faster to heat and cook in than my conventional oven. It is much more powerful that other microwaves i have had and I found a dedicated circuit was a must. It is also much heaver than a regular microwave so caution when installing if you DIY.
I have only had it ~3wks but so far so good!

My old over-the-stove microwave was on its last legs, so I decided to upgrade with a combination microwave and convection oven. So far, I have been satisfied with my purchase. I have used the microwave numerous times, and the convection oven once, to bake a cake. Both worked well. One feature I like in the summer is that the convection oven does not heat up the kitchen as much as my regular oven does. My kitchen isn't set up for a double oven, so the convection oven works well as my second oven. The dial on the front of the oven takes a bit of getting used to -- you set the cook time and the clock with the dial -- but once I mastered that, operating the oven has been a breeze.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by pkgdiva big disappointment
My unit has had three service calls and it still cannot bake a potato (bottom is mush and the top is hard using the potato sensor cycle) or reheat anything (significantly over heats) with the sensor.
The soften cycle is also mis-calibrated, and there isn't a "melt" cycle.
I've had the sensor replaced, as well as the control board, neither had any impact on the performance.
Or, perhaps it's the design: this appliance cannot be a microwave AND a convection oven.
It's impossible to hear the beep from the next room at the loudest setting (beep volume is adjustable).
GE is not willing to stand behind the product-- they are insisting on a fourth service call.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bantjh2o Great over the range microwave
I needed a replacement microwave because the previous GE died. I figured since it lasted over 10 years that I would stick with GE. This microwave received great reviews.
So far it has worked great. The knob to turn to increase or decrease cooking time definitely makes it simple.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by breezy LOVE this microwave
has tons of features, fairly easy to use, am intending to read the manual soon, but have been able to figure most of it out as it is fairly intuitive. Operates quietly, the quick functions work great, no more guessing on the popcorn! Looks very sleek in the kitchen with the other appliances.
